I don't think that was the reason why he introduced the bill. But I do think you need to ask him why he brought up the bill even though the representative knows there is little chance of this passing.

To be fair — the planet is going to die
It’s to be seen if we make it kill us faster though

For the pandemic, the largest issue we were facing were mass hospitalization. Like them or not, the vaccine forced those numbers down and we largely saw unvaccinated people making the vast majority of new hospitalizations. So there is some truth to that also

I wonder how long it’s going to take my cheerleader to come in screaming I took the post off topic?

There are about a dozen immigration bills in the House Judiciary Committee, and none of them will pass. There are over several thousand bills that have been intorduced and none of them will pass. The US House passed only 27 bills that have become law. That is the least amount of legislation by the House in one year since the Great Depression. And I suspect the same number or even fewer for 2024.

I just saw on the news that your area is getting pounded with snow and at least 14 people are dead. How you holding up, is everything OK? Hope so and good luck.

Everything pretty much shut down — our areas are not really prepared for these conditions but at least people are smart enough to stay home where they can. We are supposed to get another slap this weekend.

14 deaths so far across the state :/
Luckily we have a great power grid so no lengthy power outages. Have y’all gotten any?

Glad you're ok. I haven't seen snow in years - probably 12 years. I live just north of El Paso.

Ah yes, turn an outright fraudulent accusation into a question.

    Cute. Sad, But cute.

So, Trump isn't the threat to democracy that Leftists like to claim?

I speak only for myself, not “leftists”

The US is resilient — he will likely damage the economy further and damage discourse further. But the US will survive

Your concession that you “misstated” your accusation is accepted by the constant dodging.

The discourse will only be damaged by the anti-Trump, AKA "the resist movement".

    So would the Democrat party.
And the only reason the majority of people who vote go and vote is fear of the other guy running.

Indeed! Somehow, ALL Dems are held accountable for bills proposed that will never get passed. We ALL support them, apparently.

I would like to note, for the record, that when something done by a Dem is deemed ridiculous, we (lefties at PF) are only too happy to condemn them. There isn't blind support. But can the other side say the same? Methinks not. We see it daily when they tie themselves up in knots trying to defend the latest stupidity out of Trump's mouth.

You are not incorrect. The duopoly is the biggest issue this nation faces

There are extremes on both sides but only one side completely circles the wagons and excuses it.
