The bolded above is misinformation by omission. Unvaccinated individuals who have had a natural SARS-CoV-2 infection produce antibodies to the spike protein as well.

    :applause:

The Law of Unintended Consequences seems to be commonplace when it comes to those on the right and their science and education denialism.

What is UNFORTUNATE is the long term HARM it has caused to our nation.

Why should I engage in such fantasies?

Compared to so many other state governors during these last 15 months, DeSantis is one of the good guys.

No, I'm not. You know nothing about me. Although you should, because in the recent past I was kind to you and explained to you some doubts that you had, and you actually appreciated it. Now that I got impatient with your kind, you're lashing out at me.

Yes, but they only apply when they have enough data, the required data. And just watch, I'm absolutely positive that the FDA will approve their request, given that their vaccine is truly excellent; efficacious and safe.

Whatever. My expertise has been thoroughly demonstrated here, with stuff that can't be just copied and pasted. But I couldn't care less if you don't believe me. Again, you do you.

I joined after the pandemic started... so what? LOL. What does that prove? Oh sure, if you joined in 2018 and I joined in 2020, that automatically makes you more credible, right? Uh, no, it doesn't. LOL. What a lame, lame attempt at attacking me... It says a lot about you.

Oh, I have no clue what you're aware of? I do... we've dialogued many times. And yes, you have no clue. Which is why I'm choosing right now to stop reading you. You don't deserve my attention. Over and out.

All sources are truthful and accurate--so long as they support our biases. /sarcasm

The real problem is when we use our biases to search for sources to confirm those biases.

The economy has not "returned to normal" even now and greatly benefits from the federal fiscal stimulus. Pull that stimulus and watch the economy drop as discretionary spending like tourism takes a hit.

Let's see how your hero compares to West Coast liberals in States with similar population densities

    Deaths per 100,000
    Florida: 171
    Washington: 76
    Oregon: 64
    https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/public-health/us-coronavirus-deaths-by-state-july-1.html

So your hero killed 2 to 3 times more people than necessary. Woohoo! The morgue business in Florida made a killing. With 21.5 million people that is almost 37,000 dead,

....and that means DeSantis' policies killed about 24,000 extra people.
I wonder how many of those dead people have families who wish they were still alive. Hmmmm.

Joke of the week: What do you call a man who kills 24,000 people through stupidity?

    A Republican Governor!

What do you call a man who killed around 300,000 extra people through stupidity and ego?

    Trump!

Are you suggesting Trump just should have blown it off and let the CDC take two or three years making a vaccine?
At the time the threat was large, not completely understood, and because it was an election year the “truth” was as malleable as silly putty. The press fought diligently against reaching a national consensus.
It is one of the great flaws of our democracy: “There is no law requiring our information pipeline to be truthful.”
So whatever you believe or think you believe has been corrupted by a dishonest media.

Cognitive Dissonance Award, too. Their world view and participation in a particular social group causes them to categorically reject even what someone with specific and obvious expertise tells them.

How a dam is breached...drip, drip, drip...bear in mind Covid AIN'T smallpox or polio, one dose won't confer lifetime immunity so there'll be plenty of time to gauge long term effects....by the way, dismissing out of hand people whose academic bono fides are as solid as any lends little credibility to vaccine advocates. Still gonna pass, thank you...others can do as they see fit.

Says who? You? How would you know? We have peer review for a reason.

The scientific community determines what is and is not credible, not internet jockies.

Take a look at this vaccine tracker. We would have vaccines at this point, with or without Trump and his "warp speed" hype.

The vaccine delivery system, the mRNA process, was in development for decades before 2020. Tailoring it to the spike protein of COVID-19 is more akin to the way flu vaccines are created for each years predicted strains. So no, the mRNA vaccines were not just conjured out of thin air "faster than any in history".
