That is why Brexit happened, and why Bozo is Prime Minister of the UK. I cross my fingers regularly when Boris has spent another day NOT making a huge mistake. His immigration policy (product of Brexit) has been a global scandal and Russia loves it. Anything to make Ukrainian lives more miserable.
And Russia has been proven to have been pulling strings behind both national voices..Trump's election and Brexit...and the similarity is that Putin will do anything to force divides and cracks and disagreements in the western alliances. He does this by meddling in national affairs, and in seeding social media with lies and perverted logic and perverted explanations of history.

Even though Ukraine is a long way from the USA and from the UK, it is vital that both huge cornerstones of NATO stay together in their resolve to defend any country that wants to join them in sharing their values in the shadow of oppression and someone who has no regard for democracy or freedoms. Things I have to assume both sides of your capitol aisle would defend to the hilt.

IMO now is not the time to be concerned with left/right rhetoric. Putin loves that conflict. Now is the time to make it very clear that the west, (and only about 20% of the world's population live under the west's liberal ideals),stands together both internally and externally against the loss of what took centuries to build and to come to recognise the value of the individual and his/her fulfillment.
