Ty Cobb on Mueller's Russia investigation: "I don't think it's a witch hunt"

Former White House lawyer Ty Cobb told CNN’s Gloria Borger on Monday that he does not believe that special counsel Bob Mueller’s probe is a “witch hunt,” a belief not shared by his former boss, President Donald Trump.

“I don’t think it’s a witch hunt,” Cobb said at CNN’s day-long Citizen Conference.
The comment came during a panel with Jack Quinn, a former White House lawyer under President Bill Clinton, and CNN’s Gloria Borger.

Quinn, in response to a question from Borger, lauded Clinton as the best client he has had.

Cobb, to laughter, quickly jumped in, noting that he had a “different experience.”

Cobb was more laudatory of Mueller, calling him “an American hero in my view.”

“He was a very serious prosecutor,” Cobb said. “He and I first met in the mid 80s when we were prosecuting different places and I have respected him throughout.”

Certainly less than he was before his stint as a Trump lawyer... but it doesn't appear he'll be going to prison, so he's got that going for him..

Considering the wealth of information, indictments and convictions we have seen come out of it, I do not share your assessment.

On that same basis I support a thorough special investigation of every President upon entering office.

Who knows how many advisors did bad things years before being affiliated with the campaign? Best to check.

Btw.... the whole implication of the witch hunt cliche is that there are no witches. So far there are quite a few witches

it seems to me that without this investigation trump would still be saying that it was all some fat guy in his basement... and it couldn't have had anything to do with Putin Because...,well.... trump asked Putin.... and putin denied it.

 

No witches were found. During the search some thieves were discovered.

No magic collusion found.

 

He will be impeached, you are only fooling yourself ….

 

If I see evidence of collusion on Trump's part I will back impeachment.

Don't forget also that 67 Senators are needed to convict and remove from office. This will require a smoking gun.

 

None of which pertaining to the Russian investigation or collusion therein. I actually am looking forward to punishing the FBI for all of its actions pertaining to the 2016 elections. Removing FISA for starters. Its unconstitutional.

Liberal voters don't care. The socialist agenda was stopped dead in it's tracks Nov. 2016. The DNC minority had to busy itself somehow and Mueller's essentially a surrogate of the resistance. Big blue wave ... maybe ... in the house. Dems plans? Investigate, not legislate. Their not campaigning on "hope & change". A few propose wrecking the economy. Some promise to increase deficit spending. Oh, and Nancy wants those "crumbs" back. Socialism will languish for 2 yrs as Dems just sit in "hope", and "change" nothing. Big blue wave ... exciting times.

Thought you and Mueller were tight ... Bob just nabbed a "RU" mid-term meddler. Probably another dozen on the loose somewhere. 13 "RU" puppets ... it's a coven! Don't work yourself into a lather about the "fix". My "unhinged" appraisal is that a DNC house can't get bills thru a GOP senate, or past a DJT veto. Big blu wave o' liberal tears n' frustration.

 

I have it in good faith and confidence that sources close to the investigation tell me there aren't any Russians in your bedroom. You can rest relaxed. And yes, we will continue making a mockery of Robert Mueller as long as he persists in making a mockery of himself.
