That message was not for you. I read your response and each of your three points were incorrect and even if any of them were they would not warrant all this "blood on his hands" "murderer" garbage.

 

To understand the pandemic response dismantling, and to rebut the right's rebuttal on that point, is complex, requiring context. The article states is so much better, and the rolling stone is a timeline, great reference article.

I don't have a short reply to give you.

The short answer is that, despite the advise of his advisors, he didn't act anywhere near what he could have, and didn't do anywhere near as much as he should have, plus giving America bad advice, ignoring science which other professionals have had to mitigate his excesses, plus the dismantling of the pandemic response team.

It's extremely clear Trump is not up to the job.

 

Hospitals are no longer in danger of being overwhelmed but you are correct in thinking it was basically only NY that ever faced that danger. As for taking explicit action to make workplaces unsafe, care to illustrate?

 

Economic decisions need to be made outside of medical science. At some point the medication is more harmful than the disease

Why do you laud NY and NJ? Combined they are the locus of about 1/3 of the deaths in the US with a small fraction of the population.

It’s really not that complicated. Economics and healthcare are two different issues but we can’t ignore the economic impact of a healthcare based economic shutdown that will destroy the economy. Sure we could save lives if everyone stayed home for the next year but we’d be in an economic depression that would be far more costly to people’s health and well being.

They got hit hard and early for reasons that have nothing to do with their response - major international travel, high density, and several others.

Epidemiologists show that almost all the COVID in America came from Europe. That had nothing to do with any decision that NY or NJ could have made.

AND, they subdued it with leadership, medical science an the cooperation of the population - even with essentially no help. Outstanding!

They had doctors and nurses in "at risk" age groups coming back to fight for the lives of New Yorkers - and as expected being found among the dead.

Nobody can carry a candle to NY. They based their response on truth and leadership and they walked the walk.
