Trying to blame drug ODs with immigration has always been a weak argument, but they keep repeating it. People die of ODs because they like to do drugs. Its as simple as that. The OP wants more government involvement, but that is unlikely to solve the problem. US has the highest rate of drugs ODs in the world even though we spend massive amounts of money to combat the problem.

You can carry openly without a permit in Oregon. Their gun laws are pretty loose compared to some other States like Florida.

Are you arguing they should opt for more strict gun regulation or what is your point in the OP?
