13 year old Kills 78 year old Grandma for Pizza Money

The kid killed his grandma for pizza money, somethings wrong when they turn violent this young. They plotted it according to police, brought a hatchet and hammer with them.

Police also said they couldn't put her in the trunk, so they stole her car and left her, after they left the 'hatchet stuck in her head'. Really gruesome, somethings wrong in this country.

Lock them up and let em rot for the rest of their miserable lives.

 

They should be charged as adults instead of juveniles, because in 5 years they would be freed when they turn 18. That would be scary.

There must have been some warning signs/red flags that this kid wasn't normal and to often parents - sometimes grandparents - just ignore those danger signs chalking it up to the kid being 'spoiled' or 'bull-headed' and they don't do anything about it... then tragedies like this happen.......

This kid is a stone-cold killer and needs to be locked up forever.....

Sounds like the kid comes from a strong vlaues home where both his parents are card carrying liberals. Where else would he get the notion to steal other people's money.?

I do not want to see a child locked up for the rest of his life. There is still hope - its not he's an adult with no hope. He's a kid, and kids have plenty of time to become better people.

I wouldn't want him released when he's 18 either, but I don't think children should be tried as adults, for the simple fact that they are NOT adults. Try him as a child. Give him five years, NOT in jail but in a hospital where he can get treatment. If he still poses a danger after five years, extend the sentence. He can always be given an indefinite term in hospital, so he will only be released when he is no longer a danger.

Any teenager - not a CHILD - who can bury a hatchet in his grandmother's head is an unconscionable stone-cold killer. A person w/a conscience wouldn't be capable of doing such a heinous, brutal crime against anyone - let alone his 78 yr old grandmother and a person can not grow a conscience. You either have one or you don't.......period!

This kid is not normal and should never be released into society again....

I'm the first in believing kids should be given another chance, but in cases like this where the kid shows he's psychotic, mentally deranged - NO, he should not ever be released...... anymore than a 25-45 yr old person who left a hatchet in their grandmother's head..

No need for a jury trial when they have such upstanding citizens who can pronounce a verdict before the jury has ever been sequestered and without any evidence other than that provided by the media and authorities.

Being a child should not excuse anyone of responsibility. If you murder somebody, then you deserve to be murdered yourself. You are displaying typical, ignorant liberal logic. I'm against imprisonment in cases of this nature.

Save someone else from future fatal assault (and taxpayer funds), assure a speedy due trial and if found guilty, a .45 round to the back of the head would work just fine.

I have zero regard for anyone regardless of age, that wantonly commits a murder/crime such as this.

Makes me think the kids are getting the idea from somewhere, maybe too much "Grand Theft Auto" or "gangsta rap" and violent video gaming, not enough productive activity or socialization. I mean, they did get the idea from somewhere, and the US has much higher rates of sociopathy than other countries such as Japan, so I believe that cultural glorification of violence probably has a role in this.
