There are posters here who have been going on about Nobel prizes and why the ME has not been recipients of so many and why.

Well we can tell you about Egypt.

Every Egyptian who went to University knows that any research had to be personally funded. Poor Egyptians just didn't have that kind of money and the corrupt businessmen who ran the country were only interested in quick profit investments.
    It's not news.
For decades we have all know that the inventions and research papers sat on shelves gathering dust OR the students took their inventions and research abroad to the USA and Europe.

    All old news.

Now we have the Pharaoh unseated we finally get to see the budgets for the research and development departments for the universities in Egypt.

Maybe this will explain why now maybe we can focus on Discovery City the Zuweil Centre in 6th October. Now we can have the papers and research funded and then maybe we also can be part of the Nobel winners after so long of strangulation of research.

The years budget for 2011-2012 for Alexandria University Faculty of Science research and development department was the grand sum of 830le which is around 83 Sterling pounds in UK or $140 US!!!!!

Thats the YEARS research budget under Mubarak and his henchmen!

There is a revolution going on right now to unseat all the deans and former Mubarak NDP party members who ran these universities.
Purify our country from these dogs who of course send their children to the American University Cairo !!!
Where Egypts research ends up being funded of course.
