Understood... I think it's ridiculous to blame any president for something like this.... I am perpetually disgusted by the way Trump uses his position in this country on all issues, but I'd never "blame" him for this nutbag. I wouldn't even jump on the "hating Jews" thing until we know more.... could have just been the first building with a crowd he came across when his brain synapses stopped functioning...
Interesting thought... I'm open to anything that limits actions like this... I would think the consent of all in the household would be moot, as somebody likely to have automatic weapons in the house likely has full control over those in his (or her) household, but I like your other thought... something to discuss anyway...
Either way, the killer isn't picking off people and less people die because he's forced into retreat. With the amount of guns floating around in this country, he'll get a hold of one no matter how illegal guns become. It's just better to be able to defend yourself than to wonder how some lunatic got a gun.
Hate crimes aren't per se terrorism under federal law. Hed have to be trying to effect political change in his targets by instilling fear through force or threat of force. Just wanting to kill all the jews is a hate crime. Just wanting to kill all the jews so x political change is accomplished is terrorism and also an hate crime.
Yeah... bummer the Jews at worship didn't bring their AK47s to defend themselves this morning, huh....
No...I am not kidding you and YES I place limited blame on the President as this is a Hate crime like the last incident and both follow the general ideals Trump has forwarded and represents to both his minions and detractors. If you would prefer I wait a couple hours to say the obvious....I will repeat it when you ask.
You're right, I'm also making judgment calls when I should be waiting for details as well. Good call.
"Known to authorities?" What does that mean? You do understand that you can't prosecute people or take away their freedom for what they MIGHT do, correct?
Well, I feel sorry for you then....This tragedy, just like the nut job sending bombs to demo leaders has NOTHING to do with the President.
The guy that sent the bombs received probation instead of prison time for previous bomb threats. He was known to authorities. The guy that shot up the church was known to authorities but the Air Force didn't bother to tell anyone that he was dishonorably discharged. Virtually all of the terrorists that ran down people with vans or shot up coffee shops or newspapers in Europe were known to authorities and some of them had previous criminal records but once again nothing was done about it.
I don't know what "that situation" or "mental issues" means, but denying someone their constitutional rights is serious business, whether those rights are free speech and assembly being attacked by Trump, or those who would seek to disarm their fellow citizens without clear and justifiable cause.
According to the Bible (Revelation 6:9-11) Jesus demands that a certain number of believers MUST be killed for their faith before he returns. So, if people people actually want Jesus to return then they should be glad when believers are killed for their faith, especially in churches, mosques, and synagogues. Of course it has been 2,000 years and that magic number has not been reached but maybe the next victim will be the lucky number or it could take 500,000 more years. As they say, God works in mysterious ways.
Get ready, before the first page is done here , the idiots will be screaming, "The righties did it! The lefties did it, it's ALL Obama's fault! It's Muslim terrorists, it's the Saudis , he's a Democrat, he's a republican, Jail Hillary, Trump made him do it" ...doing their best to sow further hate and discord...
It's a bit more complicated, and Thorinc is more likely to be correct in this instance, but those are not irrelevant distinctions, no.
