I guess we should never study history. It happened so long ago!

    What crashed and burned?

The only hypocracy I see is on the left trying to get Trump out because he has been indicted.

No, but it's a pipe dream. She will not be indicted. She has already been exonerated by the FBI so that crime is over and done with. Her other crimes are too aged. It ain't gonna happen.

    So many crimes!

Why did Trump let her off the hook?

Trump had very little say in the matter.

Did Comey make the decision? How about Bill Barr?

Trump stayed out of it despite his promise to have her imprisoned?

The FBI under Comey decided in 2016 not to indict her mishandling of classified material. That was under Loretta Lynch and before Trump was president. Comey chose not to accuse her of destruction of classified material in her physical destruction of iPhones and hard drives and deleting emails.. The DOJ under Lynch (??) did a cursory investigation into the shenanigans with her foundation but concluded there was no there there, or at least nothing to go after. I don't know who was AG when the Clinton's absconded with china and silverware while leaving the white house, but the DOJ viewed it a ticky-tack crime (unlike their view of Trump removing documents) and simply asked her to return the stuff, which she did (as did Trump).

AFAIK Trump never promised to put Hillary in prison. That was just a campaign cry made up by his supporters.

Why couldn't the issue be revisited under new AG if, in fact, crimes were committed?

Once the FBI or DOJ conclude an investigation with a no bill, the case is closed or good. It is never reopened unless egregious new evidence appears. When Comey concluded his investigation in July, 2016 and declared a no indictment, that was the end of it. Unless some new earth shattering evidence magically appeared, neither the FBI, DOJ, nor the president could reopen the case. That case concluded with 'no crime occurred that warrants indictment;' Incorrectly in my view and my reading of the law, but so it goes.
