I think they are pretty organized now, especially in an age of social media. They descended pretty quickly on Candice Owens and Charlie Kirk in a diner one morning. They get great turnout when a Trump event is announced or a Conservative speaker is going to speak or when a far right speaker like Milo is going to speak. I think they are a danger already to our society. I don't want free speech shut down and I don't want these thugs showing up anywhere to cause problems no matter who or what group is speaking/marching, etc. It's not what America is all about. If they were peaceful in nature, it would be a different story.
My daughter used to moan and moan about paying taxes until Scotland was going for Independence and she read the white paper. The suggestion was that we would become more like countries like Norway - so there would be higher taxes but a lot more provided free as of need to everybody. Regardless of the reality that she herself would be paying more tax, knowing where her tax would be going, her view on paying tax changed immediately. What she had learned from reading the white paper was that we would create a more harmonious society. I don't think people nowadays are aware that keeping others in degrading situations affects everyone. This should be particularly concerning to the US where it does not look likely that the 'american dream' as known will be continuing and without question a job will not be there for many who want one and who are prepared to work hard.
If ANTIFA get's violent or breaks the law in anyway they need to be arrested just as any group who does something like that.
Very nicely stated. I agree with everything you said. As an American, your point that "keeping others in degrading situations affects everyone" stood out as the strongest portion of your post. I totally agree. A nation reflects very precisely the cumulative totality of the thinking & behaviors of that nation's current population at any given time. Right now, the U.S. appears as selfish, self-serving, arrogant, thoughtless, careless, & non-compassionate toward other nations. Even worse, it stands out as a nation that doesn't even care about its own people. The only real hope I see right now, is that there are people who don't feel comfortable with the current status quo, and are trying hard to change it. I count myself among them.
Sure. All the successful countries you've never visited are democratic socialists. All the unsuccessful ones you've never visited are socialist.
So I worked in the Netherlands several years ago. Let me tell you a story about a local I met. His son was going into what was the equivalent of 7th grade or maybe 6th, I can't remember. He was gearing up for testing because in order to qualify for the free tertiary education that liberals deem so amazing he had to be put on the college bound track at a young age. Government makes that decision before a child reaches their teenage years. You never heard about that from Bernie Sanders. I want to know if Americans who are socialist, democratic socialist, or whatever else are okay with this.
Nope. There are no countries with a stable, settled, functioning economy based on worker ownership and control of industry and businesses. Whatever they find works. I was tested and approved for the "college prep" course at about age 15. Most are or were from what I understand. But their education system is better than ours. - https://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2010/dec/07/world-education-rankings-maths-science-reading
