Huh? When did they start that? Both of our kids talked to military recruiters while in HS. The younger one even went for the test. Unless that changed since Desantis took office in 2019, you are way off base.

    Anti Military Crap hole.

Well until they need the military then they would be the loudest ones crying for them.

Not to mention that Nazi cesspool Berkley. No doubt the worst place in America.

20 years? That's seems severely pessimistic.

This is America. We can rebuild our economy and our standard of living. What we can't do is bring the dead back to life.

Haven't you read it? You're looking for plain, specific wording from documents written by politicians, most of whom are lawyers. You won't find it. Of course the constitution doesn't put it that way.

    Article I, Section 9, item 2:

"The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

What that means is that government officials can imprison people without judicial review—“when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it” and “provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions.”

If that isn't a suspension of civil rights, nothing is. Then there's this:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Emergencies_Act#Emergency_powers

"Congressionally-authorized emergency presidential powers are sweeping and dramatic, and range from suspending all laws regulating chemical and biological weapons, including the ban on human testing (50 U.S.C. § 1515, passed 1969); to suspending any Clean Air Act implementation plan or excess emissions penalty upon petition of a state governor (42 U.S.C. (f) § 7410 (f), passed 1977); to authorizing and constructing military construction projects (10 U.S.C. (a) § 2808 (a), passed 1982) using any existing defense appropriations for such military constructions ($10.4 billion in FY2018); to drafting any retired Coast Guard officers (14 U.S.C. § 331, passed 1963) or enlisted members (14 U.S.C. § 359, passed 1949) into active duty regardless of ineligibility for Selective Service."

They don't want to come right out and say that they're violating your rights.

So you agree the government can’t suspend constitutional rights, absent an amendment to the constitution. Thank you.

The only thing I've seen is the left going bonkers because trump goes up there every day and talks nonsense. He is getting better but didn't even take this seriously until last week.

Trump's taken this seriously(in ways only Trump can.). But the Left has allowed their hatred to control patient-doctor relations in the midst of an epidemic. Think about that: You guys said that you believe in pro-choice, but you betrayed that belief in a matter of urgency. So now it's pro-choice with a caveat.

    Oh, yeah!

White men rebelling is never a problem! Whether it is not paying bills to the state or to minorities, blowing bombs up to kill Planned Parenthood or the IRS workers, or trying to blow up parades with families, a white man is sadly misguided or has been abused by needing to actually paying his taxes when his mentor tells him doesn't need to pay his taxes!

Lets get back on those terrorists and gays and anti-war libs! President Trump has got the country all straightened out, so perfect since his drug saved the world and made President Trump his 2nd Trillion since he had secretly bouht the stock and 10 billion dollars worth of options.

    Brilliant!

    Oh good grief!

You know how you can immediately tell someone is a rightie? If they post a comment telling YOU what YOU think or feel or agree with. I find such people weak, insecure, and childish.

I'm not a righty. I asked if you can show anywhere in the US constitution where the government can suspend your constitutional rights, absent an amendment. You linked to several articles which do not permit the government to suspend your constitutional rights. So I took that as you agreeing that they can't. If you disagree, then post the article and section, or amendment to the constitution that permits them to.

I've done that. A lack of comprehension on your part does not constitute failure on mine.

nothing you quoted shows the constitution granting the government the power to nullify constitutional rights. That's because the constitution does not grant the government any such power.

Do they? I would believe a very high percentage of people working in the medical field in the US would be free to walk away from their jobs if they wanted. Others benefit because they don't. The rest of us should not make their jobs harder by risking infection doing unnecessary things. Go to work if your job is essential, buy food if you are hungry. Don't have social or religious gatherings.

These stay-at-home orders are being made because for some reason people are not doing the right thing on their own; the right thing for themselves, their families, their friends and neighbors.

Other's Constitutional rights stop where my Constitutional rights begin.

Stay home tomorrow. I think God will understand even if your minister doesn't.

    Sigh ...

"The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

I guess you're still not comprehending. That means that the government can lock you up without cause, without a lawyer, without even charging you with a crime. How do you think we get away with keeping foreigners locked up in Gitmo? What do you think the term "rendition" means in this context?

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraordinary_rendition#Definitions

All they have to do is to claim that we're under attack and they can justify whatever nasty business they want. And that's not even taking the Patiot Act into account, something that gives them even more power over individuals and their constitutional rights. It all stems from the part I quoted above.

Yes, you have again quoted the constitution showing the government can not remove rights of the people. We knew that already.

    Exactly:

We have already flattened the curve
We have gone from predictions of millions of deaths, to hundreds of thousands and now we are predicting about 60 thousand deaths. This is with over reporting of death.Dr. Birx admitted the attribution of death to COVID-19 has been liberal (her word). If the death count were limited to deaths directly caused by COVID-19, it would likely be even lower than this.”
