The government is being sued, and they probably are trying to figure out whether it would be cheaper to just offer a settlement, rather than open the floodgates should they eventually lose a lawsuit.

I didn't realize this point was still in contention in regards to coordination.

My only point is there were examples of collusion but collusion is not a crime.

They found no proof of coordination between the campaign and Russia as of the release of the report, however they did find subsiquent proof after the Mueller report in the form of Manafort giving russia polling data.

Unless they can tie this to Trump, which I would guess they can't, it is about Manaford, not Trump.

Lets also remember the Mueller investigation was not about Trump potentially coordinating with Russia; it was about his campaign.

Mueller was already assigned as Special counsel before Comey was fired which is why the left had their emotional breakdown over Trump firing Comey claiming it was obstruction. Muller didn't take the place of Comey. lol

I don't remember any charges against Manafort for working with Russians or anything to do with Russians.
All his charges were for tax evasion and bank fraud.
If they had evidence of Manafort conspiring or colluding with Russians to effect the outcome of a federal election, they would have charged him

You mean like Prosecutors indicting Sussmann when he lied by denying that he was representing any client as he faked information to the FBI about digital evidence allegedly linking computers in Trump Tower to Russia’s Alfa Bank. Then they found out he represented the Clinton campaign?
