I agree! The last decent GOP candidate was Kasich.

The RNC knows that they currently have a "candidate quality" problem and that it will cost them elections. Their opportunity to replace Tester in Montana is failing about because the Xtofascists want another whackjob in the Senate.

What can we do to? Increasing voter turnout for primary elections would be a good start but the RNC only understands money and power, they are clueless as to how to energize and motivate normal sane voters. I watched a segment where someone interviewed supporters of the Soon2BincarceratedFelon in a nonconfrontational manner about issues where there is common ground. Some of them are only supporting the indelible stain because they don't like the policies of the RNC and he is the only one promising to change them. So what the right needs is a charismatic sane and normal candidate who appeals to the middle ground on the right. That would be the only way for them to climb out of their self inflicted cacophony of a party.

American public opinion didn't turn against the Viet Nam War until left wing radical America hating goofballs took to the streets and made America surrender.

Motivating moderates is hard. It's easier to fire up a bunch of morons :/

Reagan was IMHO one of the best Republican Presidents of all time.
... and Trump was the worst. :(

    Bingo!

However what does motivate moderates is taking away their rights. The vote totals in Red states to protect abortion rights exceed that of the registered minority left in those states indicating that it can only be moderates who made up the difference.

Their motivation was preserving their rights.

St Reagan is a very LOW bar, barely above that of Nixon.

Ike was the best Republican president of my lifetime. He is probably spinning in his grave these days.

Yep! Threaten our democracy or our most precious and fundamental rights, and moderates can be motivated. Since the GOP is far from being the kind of party that can appeal to moderates in that way, though, thanks also to the current crop of (R)adicals in Congress, I don't see a GOP candidate getting in on that basis.

What exactly made you hate Trump? Low gas prices? Secure borders? Low inflation? Low violent crime? Not arming the Taliban? Not running from Afghanistan? Secure US air space?

Ike was well before my time....although my pops spoke admirably of him.

Reagan was OK....I still think GWB Sr was good, he presided over some great events....dissolution of USSR, Warsaw Pact, re unification of Germany to name just a few.

I was stationed for years in "West Germany" before the reunification. It was a great place. Things have changed... a lot. Its not so great anymore.

My first tour was with 41st Field Artillery Group (B Battery, 2d Battalion, 5th FA Regt) at Babenhausen, south of Frankfurt, midway between Darmstadt and Aschhaffenburg, Later at Mainz.. and more. I was Artillery... so spent lots of time at Grafenwohr and Wildchicken (Wildflecken). Hohenfels was a favorite after I got out,,, I was in the MILES business as a civilian. I passed through Ramstein on my way to Iraq... but I was Army... not Air Force. We shopped at Mainz-Kastel all the time. Its sad that Rhein-Maine AFB is gone now. Great memories of that place.

    Yup!

There are multiple factors that will make beating Biden difficult. If the 2Bfelon is on or off the ballot his supporters are an obstacle because if he is not on the ballot they might not vote for the alternative and if he is then the moderates won't vote for him again. But the scales fall from their eyes and they all unite behind Tim Scott who in turn changes the percentages of that demographic also towards the right. Sounds good until you factor in the abortion issue which brings it back to at least 50:50 odds. But the kicker that they cannot overcome are the LOSS of Boomer voters and INCREASE of GenZ voters. That should balance out but it doesn't when you look at the Math. 2020 to 2024 there will be around 3 million fewer Boomers and 9 million more GenZ. Given that Boomers lean right and GenZ lean left and that entire swing of 12 million is primarily going one way. What is more is that at least 50% of those GenZ will be motivated by their abortion rights.

At this stage I rarely make predictions because so much can still change but on the demographics alone whomever is the GOP candidate is probably facing an 8 digit popular vote shortfall right out of the gate.

Putin doesn't have the GDP to 'terrorize the world.' He couldn't even blitz one disorganized neighbor properly. A 'Hitler level threat' Putin is not.

He's always been extremely unsympathetic to me, this hillbilly. He is mentally disturbed, but a lot of people don't realize that. :(

What I found worst was that DJT wanted to undermine the election, and his Capitol riot. I never thought something like this could happen in the USA, one of the oldest democracies on earth.

He uses nuclear and economic terrorism. His Russia is also a Hitler-level threat to Europe and the world.

So you criticize "hillbillies"? So you are a criminal, drug using ghetto dweller? (I find that folks that use terms like "hillbilly" are northern ghetto dwellers that have never been south of Hoboken and view Trenton as the "Deep South".)
WHY do you say he is mentally disturbed. What's your REASON to say that?
You must be relatively young. Protests which included occupation of buildings were almost daily occurrences in the 1960's and 1970's.

"Hillbilly" is a swear/smear word for retarded s*ckers. People from rural areas are mostly decent persons. But Donald isn't even from the countryside. He's born and raised in New York City, IMHO. :(

Being former US president but fighting the USA after that, is surely a strong sign of a distorted person.

Btw, the Georgians now have him by the balls for election fraud.
May he rot in jail until death! :D

Trump doesn't have to be violent himself, like Hitler. Both did let their henchmen do the violence.

The Capitol riot is a clearly example of Trump's evilness. :(

Really? From what I have seen, he is exactly the type. Guy's a Batman villain. Michael Cohen used to be one of his henchmen.

Just wait and see ... DJT might get a second term.
Then you'll understand me and all the other warners. Would you then be able to vote him out? I don't think so! :(

If Trump is elected president again, he can't even run for the nomination again.
