Pres. Obama to Ed Henry: ‘I didn’t know you were the spokesman for Mitt Romney’
By Chris Ariens on October 13, 2011 1:47 PM
FNC’s Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry got the first question at today’s joint news conference between Pres. Obama and Lee Myung-Bak, President of South Korea. Henry asked the president about the alleged Iranian terror plot, and used a quote from GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney who had criticized Obama’s leadership.

Obama responded with, “I didn’t know you were the spokesman for Mitt Romney.”
    http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser...you-were-the-spokesman-for-mitt-romney_b92595

If he is this thin skinned now and with a reporter, what is he going to be like when he has the Republican nominee with which to deal head to head?

The reporter asked a legitimate relevant question and Obama gets snarky with him. The press didn't like it when Clinton and Gore did it, they won't like it now and Obama doesn't need the press that got him elected to turn on him.

Have you noticed the longer Obama is President the more of a sodding smartarse he has become? (BTW reading a novel during the Pacific War and that is the Australian version of the invective, one they must use quite freely)

I saw this article as well and I have to say your OP is a little misleading because you dont show the actual quote of Romeny which was:

"If you do not want America to be the strongest nation on Earth, I am not your President. You have that president today."

Why not just ask about the Terror plot? What does Romney grandstanding statement have anything to do with it? Also, Romney said that quote during the Economy debate and it had nothing to do, or had previously referenced the whole Iranian thing.

It was just a petty jab at the president and thats it. It was pretty poor journalism in my opinion by the Fox reporter.

Indeed. I'm sure his upcoming retirement will be a relief for all concerned.

The question is on the Iranian terror plot legitimate, the reference to Romney's BS statement grandstand is not.

The White House has announced they consider Romney the front runner and eventual candidate. Obama is out running against the Republicans out on the campaign trail. From now until the election everything he does will be weight against the candidate he is running against.

THAT's politics and he showed how thin skinned he is and how snarky he becomes because of it. The press will turn against him if he keeps it up with the WH press corp.

Firstly, I think its pretty rediculous to say he is thin-skinned considering he has been called everything under the sun from Anti-American, Muslim, Socialist, Communist, Hitler etc etc etc... In my opinion he has taken the BS from the crazies in pretty good stride.

Secondly, its not the job of reporters at white house press briefings to be political pundits or debate moderators. Ask the question, fine. There is no need for, and in fact, journalistically its pretty amateurish for this guy to throw Romney's quote. Which once again, had NOTHING to do with the Iranian situation.

This isn't the first time he has shown it, narcissus are generally thin skinned.

It was a legitimate question and from hence forth his positions will be weight against those he is running against and he will be questioned about their statements about him just as they from him.

Obama team goes after 'brazen' Romney

    http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/10/obama-team-goes-after-brazen-romney/1

The more snarky he gets the less Presidential he looks especially next to someone as accomplished as Romney or Cain.

Again Obama blew it. He should have answered the dork with a kick to his teeth, and then asked for a follow up question.

So what was he (Obama) supposed to respond to? The press meeting is on a pressing matter like Iran trying to blow shiat up in a very retarded fashion and what the U.S response is going to be..

What was he supposed to do? Go off on a rant on how Romney is a doo doo head? or stay on topic and the whole reason for the press conference.

He should have just dismissed the question in an antiseptic manner by simply stating that he wasnt holding a campaign media event and would not be addressing comments made by aspiring candidates.. the question was made by an unprofessional reporter working for a Neo-con media outlet and was designed to elicit a snarky answer... Obama fell for it....But so did all the morons who think it matters in the grand scheme of things

I thought this thread was going to be about Anita Perry's "JUST LEAVE RICK PERRY ALONE!" tirade.

Now THAT'S thin-skinned particularly considering the fact that Perry isn't new to the game of slinging mud around.

I don't understand this. Obama has been blasting AQ jihadists out of the water left and right.

Are you suggesting we invade Iran right now?

This is stupid... he is expanding the wars like Bush never thought possible and murdering people right and left... Obama is a warhawks wet dream... what the hell do you propose we do.. invade Iran on a monkeyfook plan like this?

Did you even consider the fact that a proffessional well experienced assasination machine.. coup starter... terrorist supporting organization tried to hire a half baked Zeta drug traffiker to assasinate a Saudi politician in D.C.. the Zetas who are the enforcement arm of a multibillion dollar a year cartel in Mexico.... why the hell would Iran do this when they (*)(*)(*)(*) well know that the U.S is just looking for a reason to invade them.... why would the drug cartels in Mexico get involved in political crap from a world away for a measely 1 million dollars and jeapordaize their tolerated existance and lucrative drug trade with the U.S?

I am more afraid that Obama will actually use this as an excuse to strike Iran militarily. ... not that he will underreact... lol... anybody with half a brain can see that Obama has an itchy trigger finger...itchier than G.W.s

Are you suggesting that is the only option? Or that we just allow Iran to keep attacking us?

So, how did a quote from mitt romney end up in a question about the "alleged Iranian terror plot"?
Or are you trying to say that mitt romney was somehow behind this "alleged Iranian terror plot"?
Or maybe it was just a slow day in right-wing land.

Yep... ignore the rest of the post... this "plan" was meant to be discovered. It wasnt sanctioned or started by the Iran government. It may have been started by people in Iran.. but that isnt the same thing. If attacking Iran for this failed attempt by rogue elements withing Iran is justification for a military strike.... Why the hell didnt we attack Saudi Arabia and Egypt after 9-11 since most of the terrorists were from those countries, why didnt we attack Pakistan since the funders and planners were from there?

This is a shallow and stupid ploy to justify an attack on Iran... dont worry about a tepid response.. our government is busy as hell trying to justify an attack on Iran as we speak.

I am no fan of Iran. But I also dont want our government to involve our military in an attack on Iran in a last ditch effort to re-establish hegemony in the middle east. China is already reaping the rewards of resource trade with Afghanistan and Iraq... while we foot the bill in blood and money. How stupid can americans be to allow this travesty to continue.
