A Message For My Fellow Republicans

I can understand the trepidation over Trump. He's an outsider who's beaten the insiders at their own game & it not only upsets them, it' scares them to think of someone outside the "elite political circle" actually running the country, especially someone like Trump who's shown no sign of acquiescing to establishment demands. So, it's not surprising a Rep insider like David Ross Meyers would be promoting Hillary, an ultimate insider, over Trump by scripting such a glowing resume of Hillary without once mentioning her election would mean a very liberal SC for years to come & the rapid expansion of policies we've seen over the past 8 years. Clinton will not fix our immigration system or the VA & will double down on the expansion of EPA power and other federal agencies. And, when you strip away the dressing, the only reason Meyers seems to have for supporting her over Trump is that she's a seasoned insider who won't upset the status quo. Really? So we're now so frikkin stupid we're suppose to ignore that she's a radical lib who'll appoint 3-4 liberal SC justices & double down on expanding federal power & support her over Trump because ...well.....she's "insider qualified" & Trump isn't. That's nuts!
And one more thing....this crap;

Get real...there's not one thing listed in that criticism of Trump that couldn't be said about Hillary (or Bill for that matter) & invoking the Founders to legitimize that garbage is pathetic.

David Ross Meyers is not expressing an unusual position for Republicans. In reading the news on Ted Cruz ending his campaign we're seeing much the same coming from his supporters.

Anyway, the story goes on to address "NEVER TRUMP" Republicans that will either vote for Hillary Clinton, or not vote for President but support Congressional Republicans, or that simply won't vote at all.

Realizing that support for the Republican Party has been plummeting as Donald Trump became the likely candidate over the last few months I believe the previously expressed concerns of Republican Leadership that Trump could lose worse than Barry Goldwater, that only won six states in 1964, are arguably justified. This could be a "monumental" presidential election where Trump could conceivably lose in all 50 States if there are enough "NEVER TRUMP" Republicans.

Bottom line. While Hillary Clinton probably isn't a good choice for president Donald Trump is a horrible choice for president that even many Republicans understand.

What we are witnesses to is the formation of a New Republican party....one that actually has a huge base of support now that can and will win a national election...thanks to Donald Trump aka the White Working Class (largest voting bloc in America)who for the first time in decades actually now have someone who will stand up for them....and they are and will continue to turn out in droves to vote for him.

After a suitable mourning period, and after Trump hopefully rips into Shillary in the debates I 'm hoping that Cruz comes out and addresses his followers who are righteously angry now and promise to never vote for Trump. That would be a stupid mistake of epic proportions and would truly be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I get it...Trump has been a liar, bully and a clown. His whole campaign persona has been a fraud and he seems shockingly ignorant of the constitution and seems to think it exists only to help him build his business up. And worse than Trump still are his goon squad followers. Many of them are simply dumb and angry and that's a dangerous combination. I know all that.

But voting for Hillary to get even with Trump will get this nation nowhere and just the Supreme Court justices alone she might appoint are reason enough
to hold your nose, vote for Trump and then work like hell for the next four years when Trump doubtlessly will fail and become a one term mistake (as many presidents have).
Cruz can do much to persuade his followers not to torch this nation because they are bitter and if some are still idiot enough to support Hillary then they are too far gone to be reached by anyone and will likely be small in number and disenfranchised democrat voters, Sanders voters similarly disgusted with their party's nominee, might be enough to offset the lunatic fringe on the right.
