A Message For My Fellow Republicans

The main thing I disagree with the article is that voters will forget. They will forget next week, next year, next election cycle. If Trump becomes President, my biggest fear are the 8.5 million American citizens who live and work abroad. With someone like Trump who will rile the feathers of foreign countries, these American citizens are most vulnerable who may have to make a very difficult choice, remain American in a foreign country or reneg their citizenship until Trump is either impeached or imprisoned.

 

Listening to someone and making a decision are two separate bananas unless you are trying to advocate that politicians become "yes" people.

Hillary messed up with a private server, however, she was not the first to have that as Secretary of State. Obama has multiple advisors. When it came to Libya, he did listen to both sides in his inner circle. One side, with Hillary, said go for it. The other side, with VP Biden, said no.

That's almost a perfect description of the Obama/Clinton foreign policy. They're responsible for the Arab Spring which has allowed the formation of several Muslim terrorist groups, making the world less safe for everyone.

 

I see the more mature side of the party running from Trump as the election progresses. The rabid base will slather over him but they do not have enough power or numbers to win a general. The first debate will be the test for Trump. He will try to delay it as long as possible but he cannot avoid it. If the nation watches him prove he is a completely empty suit and then still supports him, then we are doomed. His presidency will likely end in a true impeachment, he will never last 4 years.

Attempting or even talking about placing 35% tariffs on China and Mexico would rile feathers and make those countries more entrenched politically that it would be impossible to have any reasonable negotiations on issues that matter to us and them. And that would make Obama and Clinton look like Mensa members, figuratively speaking compared to what Trump and his supporters want.
