Trump never ran in states like California, Illinois, Texas or New York so he did not really sway a lot of voters to support him. He did run in Colorado but lost that state due to Latinos. In Pueblo County, Colorado which normally votes heavily Democratic it went to Trump over 50%. Hillary took suburbs of Denver that have lot's of Latino's to give her the win in Colorado. My point is she won the popular vote only because around 70% of Latino's voted for her. 68% admitted to not wanting a great wall built. Hillary also had a lot of tv stars and twice as much money as Trump did. Considering he only used 60 Million dollars is crazy compared to what Hillary spent.

Trump won in most of the states that mattered and turned to heavily democratic states (MN and ME) into battleground states. Hillary did good in Texas, NV, AZ and Colorado due to Latinos but in the battleground states she failed to mobilize the African American vote and most of the white vote. California has 15 million Latino's. They do not get to decide who our president it. Hillary did win the popular vote but if you take away Latino's than Trump won pretty much everything else.

Again the "poorly educated" card holds no water. Almost every single farm in Iowa had a Trump/Pence sign in front of it. You don't need to have a degree to be a farmer and they feed America. The food they provide does more then a bunch of Democrats who go to college and do nothing with their degrees. Both of my parents and myself have an associates degree. My dad is payed salary and has a very good job. We are not "poorly educated", "stupid" or "deplorable" as the left and Hillary claims. When you want every single vote you can get the last thing you want to do is come off as "we are better than everyone else". It does not work that way. Republican votes matter too and if the Democrats are serious about winning they should want to steal as many of the 60+ million votes they can get. Yet they made a lot of people angry calling them deplorable. Hillary did everything she could to lose including ignoring the hard working white American's and offering us no good reason to vote for her. If you people want to win in 2020 I would not go around calling us a bunch of idiots or you can kiss many voters goodbye.

No, it will read Donald Trump was the 45th President of the United States. A "strong popular vote" was never a requirement to be President. Sorry you're not happy about that, but it doesn't really matter.

    - - - Updated - - -

Since they expect similar results of their study, it would appear so. Unless you are seeing something in the article that shows otherwise?

I'll let the honest members of the site decide for themselves whether your "pathetic dude" response to my substantiated argument is a persuasive rebuttal.

They expect but have not seen. So as soon as you show some actual evidence, I'll give it some consideration.

Unlike you, I'm not willing to assume something is true just because I feel it's correct.

    MOD EDIT>>>FLAME BAIT<<<
Many people feel like the left views them as "beneath them" or "stupid idiots" and this pushes people away from the left. They won the popular vote due to Latino's and think everyone is ok with the way they treat people. Trump won most of the white vote. People are tired of being ignored and treated like this. The Democrats have not learned from their mistakes and think they can win 2020 off just the voters that voted this election. Funny because they lost.

Democrats voted for Trump. Please call them stupid so they can leave your party and join something better. Oh wait you people already have. Anything is better then the left and their name calling. Can't you guys see you are only hurting your party with these rude comments? 60+ million people voted for Trump and we do matter. You will find that out in 2020 when us "deplorables and poorly educated people" vote.

The system works exactly how it was designed to work. Trump lost by 6 million votes in NY and CA which cost him 84 electoral votes. There were 13 swing states both candidates needed to fight for and Trump won those by a million. I have no doubt that a recount in CA would change the popular vote victory from Clinton to Trump, however, the system worked as designed. It gave the smaller states a voice.

I regret voting for Bush. At the time he seemed like the better of the two people and he probably was but in the end he turned out to be a con artist and member of the group "skulls". He should never have been elected but we can't change the past. We can only hope for a better tomorrow and it's not like the Democrats have always got it right either.

Using people like Stephen Colbert as a news source will continue to make the Left appear juvenile, and separated from the genuine issues facing the country.

Nope. I'm saying they count for 55 electoral votes.

I thought Colorado was a swing state? Still Trump did claim the states needed to win the EC. Hillary won the popular vote due to Latino's voting. yes their votes do matter to but you can't win an election on only Latino votes. They mostly supported Hillary because they disagreed with the great wall and mass deportations.

Trump won 54% of the Latino's in Florida, a state that actually mattered. A state that he actually campaigned in. So the states Trump did campaign in he actually did fair better with Latino's. Some of the Latino's in Florida admitted to not trusting Hillary. I wonder how many of the 70% of Latino's that voted for her actually like her?

The left deems us 60+ million Americans (including Democrats) who voted for Trump as poorly educated, stupid, deplorable feces slingers and then in 2020 they will turn around and ask for our votes to support their Democratic party. Does anyone see how stupid that is?

They didn't understand how you could vote against Obama in 2008 and 2012 without being a racist, and now they don't understand how a Republican could possibly win... It has never occurred to them that Obama has been the worst president for America in American history. So suddenly it's the fault of everyone but them.

I wanted to make a point of this:

Don't expect my vote in 2020 if you continue the name calling. This college grad is not stupid and my vote will matter in 2020. If it makes you feel better then keep calling me stupid and see where it get's you.

Hillary never put together a strong popular vote. She did not even try to. She failed in every level including her lack of rallies. Again she only won the popular vote because many Latino's disagreed with Trump on several issues and he never campaigned to get a lot of their votes. In Florida where he took 54% of the Latino vote he did campaign there. If he was trying to win the popular vote he would have had rallies in California but he chose not to because the EC is all that mattered to him and he won.

I would have tried for everyone's vote but you can only do so much with 60 million dollars. Hillary had twice that much money and still failed on every level but with the Latino vote.

90% of liberals never cared about the popular vote when Obama won the EC twice. They only care now after they lost to Donald Trump. As long as they are winning they could care less. If they win the EC in 2020 but lose the popular vote I bet they won't have a single complaint about the EC. The left is very unfair.

That's what happens when you let millions of illegals into the US and stay away from Voter ID laws... If you can't see it now, you'll probably never see it.

Resoundingly only in California. Take California out of the picture and Trump won the popular vote in the rest of the country.

Even without the illegals there is 15 million Latinos living in California they gave her the popular vote. 68% of Latino's disagreed with Trump and his wall. They may not have liked Hillary but they saw Trump as a bigger threat. They did not vote to make America great again. They voted for their own selfish reasons.

In Florida where Trump campaign he took 54% of the Latino vote. He never campaigned in California. Trump won most of the white vote from people who want to make America great again. In the end Trump campaigned for the EC and won. The left never complained about the EC when Obama won twice.

I think there's a much more important lesson to be learned. Because of political parties we've moved further and further away from the US Constitution and the original intent of American's founders.

If the Electoral College existed as intended, explained in Federalist Paper #68, then the United States would never have been concerned with Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton ever becoming president of the United States.

    http://www.constitution.org/fed/federa68.htm

Arguably it's time for a new Constitutional Amendment to establish the independence of Elector College Members and removing any and all political party, special interest, popularity contest, and/or financial influence from the selection of the most qualified candidate to be the President of the United States.
