I have a prediction to make.

Should Clinton win the presidency, I predict that on day two there will be calls for her impeachment, based on her record of cheating and lies.

    Thoughts?

True... there probably will be calls for her impeachment if she is elected but.....
it would be unlikely to happen because The Donald's courage to tackle some
highly controversial topics is scaring some very powerful people.........

    Hillary has some serious backing......

Not the point. If Clinton is impeached, it would not benefit Trump as the vice president would then assume office and face great hostility.

It would show a great dissatisfaction with the democrats, however.

Trey Gowdy has already signalled a NEW round of House hearings/investigations against Clinton.....which is pointless, unless Gowdy anticipates Clinton WINNING in November.

But essentially, you're right. "The honeymoon" may last 6 months...tops....but the Repubs will face a "test of fire"

    EITHER

    1. They work with Clinton on compromise legislation. But that will incur the wrath of their "No compromises EVER!!!!" Tea Partiers....or the Hillary Derangement Syndromers/Trumpers.

or 2. They continue on the same path they have since 2010.....obstruction, passing phony "show bills" that they KNOW will die in the Senate or be veto'ed. And Ryan will look as weak as Boehner did.

Any Federal official can be "impeached".

If the GOP has a majority in the House, they can impeach any Federal official at any time.

But, it would be a waste of time and money, since the chances of 2/3rds of the Senate voting for conviction would be less than zero.

Impeachment had about zero impact on the Bill Clinton Presidency and legacy. I imagine it would
be about the same for Hillary. Might even turn more people against the Republicans than it would against her.

And we all know Hillary can get awAy with murder, ( no pun intended) and the democrats in the Senate would praise her some more.

The corporate media will protect her and the people who think she'll throw her table scraps to them will support her. We're up against a systematic, effective campaign of misinformation conducted by guard and attack dogs...We're up against the "corporate media".

    Remember the euphoria about Obama?

“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car, I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage!” the woman cried. “If I help him, he’s going to help me!”

Many people believed he would "get the rich" and legislate their prosperity. Why is that? The rhetoric, the media feeding this to the people and they bought it. They're still waiting for government to legislate them out of poverty. A different time and candidate, the rhetoric is no different.... worse, people will buy it again.

Notice NONE of the Rightwing responders to this OP have YET to deny that the OP's premise is true?

Basically, they're admitting that "if" Clinton wins....all they want is for the GOP to waste its time...and the country's time.....doing endless investigations, along the same lines as the ones they have done for the past 4 years that were failures.

You can't impeach somebody for something they did before they came into office. I don't see it happening, especially since I think we (Republicans) lose the Senate. Silly to even try.

As with any president, there is always something to try to impeach over.

If Trump wins, you don't think that the democrats would try to impeach, even though he has held no office?

    Or not.

At this point, I think Senate Republicans are more likely to try to impeach Trump than Democrats.
Paul Ryan, Cruz, Rand Paul (Paul REALLY hates Trump) ... the list just keeps growing.

I'd like to point out how the system in Washington works. It's like Congress- the only authority that can remove a member of congress, ( as in terminate or fire them now) IS CONGRESS. They police themselves, because they of course are so totally honorable. Congress is now almost 240 years old. Thousand of people have held seats in congress. More than a few of them have been convicted of felonies and imprisoned. But how many has congress seen fit to remove?

Before the civil war, there were two. During the civil war, they booted out 17, for being too sympathetic to the south. So deduct those 19 from the grand total of 21 removed from congress by congress, and you see that they have rid themselves of TWO unworthy members in the last 150 years. These guys run a tight ship, don't they? They are also the people that hold the power to impeach the president- and she is one of them; senator from New York prior to being secretary of state. Now I'm not saying someone won't demand impeachment, somebody always does and the reason doesn't matter. I'm saying this is a fixed game, and nothing will happen except the corruption will rise to a new level.

There's a pretty fair chance that should Trump win, his OWN party would impeach him.

Doesn't matter what you think, that's not the question. Nice try to divert the conversation thought.

2010 was the years the voters swept Democrats to the curb in the House. In 2014 they did the same in the Senate.

No it will just another item in the long list of things Republican lawmakers have done to thwart the will of the people.

Of course there will be no impeachment of Hillary just as there was none of Obama. The reason being that Republicans lack the power in the Senate to make it happen and they are on track to lose seats in the upcomming election.

Perhaps it has more to do with the number of people who recently opposed Clinton and have wound up dead. That might be a determining factor.
