Nope, you will probably never see a viable third party candidate.

Win or not so many people do not like Obama but also don't like the GOP candidates, so if there was ever a good time for one, now is optimum. Who it would be is another question.

The last great third party candidate was Ross Perot. He had the money and power to gain media coverage and get on the ballot in all fifty states. Unfortunately, I think the next great third party candidate could be Donald Trump for the very same reasons.

Very possible it could be Trump...I tend to doubt it, but it could happen. Anyone else?

I will most likely be throwing my support behind Gary Johnson who has a proven track record of success.

The problem is that "non politician" third party candidates would get treated the same way Herman Cain did, and wouldn't have the connections someone needs to win. Right or left, Washington takes care of thier own.

If a politician runs as a third party candidiate, nobody will like them because they're a politician.

So we've ruled out insiders and outsiders.

The problem that makes it nearly impossible to find someone else...is that they must be perfect. No fooling around in cars, or getting censured by your fellow congresspeople, or saying you're against contraception, os sitting in the wrong church, or doing drugs in college, no infidelity.

I don't know why Americans expect a scandal free President. The closest we'll see is Mitt Romney, and because he's so perfect, he's out of touch.

A two party system of government is only one rung above a one party system of government.
