"Abe nominated Trump for Nobel Peace Prize at request of U.S."
"Prime Minister Shinzo Abe nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize last autumn after receiving a request from the U.S. government to do so, the Asahi newspaper reported Sunday."

"The report follows Trump’s claim Friday that Abe had nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize for opening talks and easing tensions with North Korea."

    https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...e-prize-request-u-s-report-says/#.XGsuLOhKiM9

"Trump Raises Talk of "Retribution" After Alec Baldwin's Latest SNLAppearance"
    "On Saturday night,
SNL once again trotted out Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump, this time to mock his idiotic national emergency exception."

    "On Sunday morning Trump tweeted:"

"Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC! Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!"

    https://www.gq.com/story/trump-retribution-baldwin-snl?utm_brand=gq&utm_social-type=owned&verso=true

So what we have here is classic Trump, on one hand he has a need for excessive praise and attention, while at the same time showing an inability to accept opinion, especially if it is criticism delivered by way of humor, Trump has a really hard time dealing with humor

    Got to love the "
after receiving a request from the U.S. government to do so," you don't need to be clairvoyant to figure out where that "request" originated

More Fake News from the left.

Japan refused to acknowledge that so all you have is one sentence, not even using unnamed sources, in a newspaper.

    And you think it's true.

    Hahahaha

It was Trump who claimed Abe nominated him.

    Are you 5?

    And he was correct.

    Abe did nominate him.

    What's the problem again?

Japanese Times is Japan's oldest and largest English language newspaper in Japan, and other than you just proclaiming it is fake news, you offered zero proof showing it is fake news, none, zilch

This ain't talk radio, just because you say it it doesn't mean it isn't true

Show me it is true because they certainly did not.

All they did was type something on a page.

So if they said Trump was an alien you would just believe them huh?

    No proof required?

    At all?

Yep and there are hundreds of people nominated so I'm not sure what the OP is whining about.

It's not like the ultra liberal selection board is going to add Trump to their final list.

Did Obama ask another party to nominate him for the award? Big difference

What exactly did Obama do to deserve it? A serious case can be made that Trump does, no matter how much you hate him.

I'm not sure folks quite understand how these big prizes work, and the backstage lobbying that goes on...

Who said Obama deserved one, even he questioned it? Point being Obama never asked anyone to nominate him for the award, but it seems likely Trump did

And if you consider given North Korea getting just about everything it had hoped to get out of the Singapore meeting while the US got North Korea's promise to consider looking into denuclearizing it's nation, well, then I guess Trump should get one, however, most wouldn't agree getting played by a dictator is quite Nobel Peace Prize worthy

Actually, interestingly enough (and not surprising at all in this era of modern "journalism") the articles seem to circle back to the same Asahi story, or they reference another story which was (wait for it) based on the Asahi story.

This article though seemed to have at least a little more detail, but not much more information
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...o-nominate-trump-for-nobel-peace-prize-report

"Questioned in parliament about Trump’s claim that he had [nominated Trump for the Nobel peace prize] Abe said: “In light of the Nobel committee’s policy of not disclosing recommenders and nominees for 50 years, I decline to comment.”

Neither the prime minister nor his spokesman denied Trump’s comment.

“I never said I didn’t” nominate him, Abe said in response to a follow-up question by Yuichiro Tamaki, a lawmaker for the opposition Democratic Party for the People."

"In responding to Tamaki’s questions in parliament, Abe praised Trump, saying he “has been decisively responding toward resolving North Korea’s nuclear and missile problems, and last year he held historic US-North Korea summit talks”."

Trump’s claim that Abe had sent him a “beautiful copy” of a letter sent to the Nobel committee could not be immediately verified.

The government’s top spokesman, Yoshihide Suga, echoed Abe’s remarks in refusing further comment."

Neither Abe nor the Japanese government denied Abe nominated Trump.

The part about Trump supposedly asking Abe to nominate him is entirely unverified and as likely as not is pure fiction.

Obama gets a Nobel Peace prize before taking office.

Trump ends the 70 year old Korean War, and we get crickets.

If he actually did that I would petition for him to be nominated myself, but of course he didn't do any such thing yet.

Where is their source because I didn't see them give one.

Can you point it out for me please?

If you can't find one that means they don't have one and yes, that would make it fake news.
