Abortion may become illegal, but miscarriages not. That would create a loophole for someone carrying out an abortion to say it's a miscarriage. If abortion is banned there should be a provision for prosecutors to investigate claims of miscarriages to avoid anyone abusing the loophole.
Yeah let's prosecute and put all these women in jail for murder if they miscarry, a brilliant idea that would make all Nazi Amerikans proud! In fact, if they claim they have their periods it might be a phony excuse for a miscarriage, charge them with murder every month, because ... you never know. Also while we're at it, let's prosecute all men for mass murder if they spill any sperm cells. This is after all, the Land of the Free. Criminalize everything because every American is a criminal 24/7! Oh wait, that's already under way.
Should we also hold men accountable for their role in the preganancy? I propose that if a woman can not have an abortion that the child produced needs to be taken care of and instead of investigating "miscarrages" we identify the father and make him financially involved in bringing the baby into the world and supporting its well being.
I would think that the alternate option choice if abortion were banned would be the pill method. It's limitations are time, but I think works for 11-12 weeks. That at least would reduce the crude physical attempts, stuff like coat-hanger jobs that sometimes resulted in death, that helped get Roe V Wade passed in the first place. But no matter what, no law is going to end abortions.
There are actually some pretty strong laws in place, but they usually place a considerable burden on the mother to do provide the info to act on. At least i saw that in one case; the lack of support left the person strapped enough financially she was hard pressed to trace her out of state husband and his income sources, which the local prosecutor wanted her to provide. When fathers don't support, it often winds up as a taxpayer expense, and many of those kids lose a lot more than the financial benefits.
Luckily, Republicans are willing to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars to create the Vaginal Police Force, to make sure women aren't abusing the right to miscarriage, and build the jails to house the potential criminals until they can be forced to undergo a pelvic exam to prove it was a natural miscarriage and not an induced one. Women are so lucky to have Republicans so invested in their vaginal health and I'm sure that every woman will be happy to undergo intrusive exams in order to conform with the Republican agenda.
Imagination- no such thing exist or would be allowed. The right, being "conservative" which means logical and controlled, would hardly go off the track as the left hes. You looking at your mirror again, reversing what you see into what you think you see.
"Controlled" indeed ... controlling every woman's vagina is indeed the goal of Republicans. Forcing raped women to carry and pay for their rapists babies is indeed the goal of Republicans.
We speak of many things when defending abortions -- incest, woman's body, ovaries, fetus, right to choose, vagina, rape, miscarriage, etc -- but remember there is another human being involved along with the mother-to-be. The baby rarely gets spoken of. Why is that? What is wrong with allowing each state's legislature to decide the abortion issue for each state? I don't support abortions but am comfortable with each state deciding the law, either way. But it appears the pro abortionist aren't happy with just their state making abortions legal they want other states to do the same. This smacks of the same with guns -- the liberals don't want to own a legal gun and also don't want you to own a legal one. Conservatives don't care who owns or don't own a legal gun.
I don't know, but if abortion is banned how do you prevent someone from having an abortion and saying it's a miscarriage?
Hogwash. It's not the right that is soft on crime- it's the left. You know it's true; somehow think we don't?
Looks like the Republicans will be painted as the "Pro-Rapists" party after they start forcing raped women to carry their rapists baby. There are reasons not to support either party.
You will get more support being rational that radical. And there is no "pro-rapist" connection to the anti-abortion people, they only care abut the unborn life. I don't think they care much about the mother or the quality of life that results, and that in my view is short sighted, selfish and arrogant. But then so is refusing to jail criminals, which is something of a pandemic among cities with democrat/liberal governance. Lots of things need to change- and most could if people would acknowledge all the real facts and treat others with respect.
And by that same token, if someone has a miscarriage but they are accused of having an abortion, how do you prevent accusing someone wrongly?
I can definitely see if you're afflicted with binary thinking that this issue may be more than you can handle.
says the guy who hasn’t displayed an ability in this thread to string two sentences together. Oh right, there’s that first post of yours, a copy and paste of someone else’s work. Good for you. Such deep thinking. maybe display some basic debate skills before launching straight into personal insults buddy.
I don't know. What do you suggest? There are many women who are against abortions. If they have a miscarriage and are accused of having an abortion they'd be glad that there's a thorough investigation to prove their innocence.
The point is if you're going to say taking a life is wrong do you allow someone to say he's dead when I got there without any investigations?
I actually thing that birthing aged females should have to check in monthly for menstruation confirmation. Otherwise, we can never be certain they aren't having secret abortions.
