Republicans just don't want to admit that we have now had 23 months of private sector job growth, or that fewer homeowners are facing foreclosure every day, or that the American auto industry – the industry that Mitt Romney wanted to "go bankrupt" – is back on track with GM just reporting the highest quarterly profit ever in its history, $17.9 billion

Expect to see people saying that Obama lost hundreds of thousands of jobs the first few months he was in office and it was his fault that they were lost.

All I see is foreclosed homes and houses for sale and gas at $3.50.
I see people without jobs in construction and the family farmer struggling to make a living.:cowtwo:
I dont live in Washington DC.

I live in the real world..

The problem is this: Those numbers look good for talking points but they are minor improvements. People are not seeing this in their daily lives or in the lives of people they know. It does not translate into the real world.

People still don't see jobs coming back no matter what this number or that means. What they do see is our deficit completely out of control, Obama with no plan to address it, and still no budget passed.

So i'm glad you are able cherry pick some numbers that make it seem Obama is doing great, but in reality it is not perceived that way.

Well, that's capitalism. Since you have the world's reserve currency, President Obama didn't have to make quite so concerted attack on spending or the working people as is happening elsewhere, so you are coming out of it more quickly. What do you expect - divine intervention?

What kind of Kool-Aid are you drinking?

Our national debt has essentially doubled in the last 3 years, home foreclosures remain at historic highs, unemployment would be over 12% were it not for the fact that they've just quit counting tens of thousands of people, and GM is NOT operating at a profit, despite essentially declaring bankruptcy to cancel billions of dollars in previous obligations.

So is it Grape? Orange? What's your pleasure?

All Obama did was give out money. At least FDR created many programs such as the CCC or WPA to make the country better while trying to spend us out of trouble.

Obama doesn't have any of this. What Obama did could have been done by any liberal and he has not identified himself as a leader by taking any bold steps to set the country on the right course.

He had a chance with Obamacare to make a statement but the way its written, it is so mired in controversy that most of America simply wants it to go away and be redone. Nobody even knows exactly what its going to do.

Obama has failed on a presentation level of showing himself as a capable leader. Hillary would probably have been a much better choice.

I'll admit those things are good news.

I just think that they were not worth spending a trillion dollars on.

    Or even half that amount.

For half a trillion dollars, you could simply have paid every unemployed person in America a living wage for a few years and been done with it.

All in all a collossal waste of money.

For a trillion dollars the U.S. could've returned to the moon, sent manned missions to Mars, a main belt asteroid, and probably Callisto (Jupiter).

And still had enough to fight a medium sized war.

Yep that was my point. Obama has done nothing bold with the money he spent when he could have done so much for that amount. He really went about it the wrong way and the results compared to how much was spent is really not very impressive.

He certainly has..he repaid his financial backers in spades. Your statement should read 'Obama has done nothing for America with the money he spent'.

True. The people behind the money that put Obama in office have certainly been rewarded richly.

For the record Ford refused the bailout and came back quicker
and stronger than Chevy.GM had to cheat and pad their numbers to
show results and also got lucky with some of their models like
    the Cadillac CTS.
There were 2 months were No growth was recorded but eventually
it got revised ^UP^ meaning the fix was put in.
For the record last year {2011} was THE Worst year in the Housing market
since record-keeping.Just like the summer before or Joe Biden's
Summer of Recovery was THE Worst summer ever recorded for Youth
    employment.
You are being lied to by this Adm. and it's Lamestream.

Thank God the Republicans took power of the house, otherwise it would be the same old out of control spending and regulations we saw the first 2 years of the Democratic rule.

And apparently what you don't see or realize is how severe the problems were when Obama took office.

Times are getting better, so it would be foolish to stop the progress now for a more conservative approach, unless you want to wait another 4 years before things get better.

No, Bush gave out money. Remember those $600 checks that appeared from nowhere. That's one of the reason we're in a hole.

Whether it was Bush's fault or not is immaterial. The country was on the break of collapsing when Obama took over. If you don't think it's improved you're delusional.

Your crying hyperbole notwithstanding, that assessment is asinine. Just straight up crazy.

Today's economy would be BETTER if Obama had simply done absolutely NOTHING.

Of course, I suppose you'll argue that doubling the national debt in 3 years has been a good thing - kind of like a family running up several hundred thousands dollars in credit card debt is a good thing.

I'll loan you a couple million, sure. But - unlike your savior the President - you danged well better have a plan for how you're going to pay back your oppressive debt.
