I am studying the James Hansen paper "Global Temperature Change"

He does not get far into his paper when he starts to back off from humans caused this.
Rather than make definite statements, he waffles. Says probably quite a bit.

All of science deals with probabilities. Even your doctor can only say if you smoke you probably will get cancer.....he can not guarantee it.
