Alex Jones needs to be taken off of the airwaves for his continual reporting of false and dangerous rhetoric. By exaggerating fears, fake news reporting and just making even worse a dire climate in America where killing sprees have become more common, this type of free speech needs to be silenced.

Is he the new Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh?

"Yelling fire in a crowded theatre is where free speech ends," Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall said.Alex Jones did exactly that by going on TV and saying, "Obama will start confiscating your guns."

As a result - "22-year-old Richard Poplawski put on a bulletproof vest, grabbed his guns, including an AK-47 rifle, and waited for the police to respond to the domestic disturbance call his mother had placed. When two officers arrived at the front door, Poplawski shot them both in the head, and then killed another officer who tried to rescue his colleagues."

"He was convinced the government wanted to take away his guns, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. Specifically, Poplawski, as one friend described it, feared "the Obama gun ban that's on the way" and "didn't like our rights being infringed upon." (FYI, there is no Obama gun ban in the works.) The same friend said the shooter feared America was "going to see the end of our times."

"We learned that Poplawski hosted his own (failed) Internet radio show and that he visited the website of 9-11 conspiracy backer Alex Jones, who has been hyping the threat of a totalitarian world government for years, " - according to
    Media Matters.

Numerous examples of violent rhetoric and fabricated paranoid reporting from Glenn Beck and other sources contributed to these types of shootings. When is it going to end?

Alex Jones is best dealt with the old fashioned way. Ignored.

The same is true with Beck.

If you don't like what an idiot is saying, don't listen to him.

Now, I will admit that it is a real problem when the majority of the population is idiots.

While I agree Alex Jones is a tin foil hat wearing blow hard I do not agree in taking him off the air.

Free Speech does exist in this country and so long as he does not yell "Fire" in a theater he has the same right to spew his vitriol as anyone else. You're walking down a very slippery slope trying to compare his radio show to someone yelling fire in a theater. The reality is you do not like his message, hell neither do I. Just ignore him we can not start taking people off the air or trying to have their shows canceled because you do not like their opinions, that goes against the very grain of this great nation.

Lets be honest here, we both know there will always be wackos that go off the deep end whether they hear it from Alex Jones, President Obama, or Rush Limbaugh. We must not use our dislike of the message to stifle free speech.

Censorship is one of the major characteristics of a dictatorship. You want to implement such a device and confirm for these individuals that Alex Jones was right after all? Maybe he's not as nuts you think.

My right of free speach, isn't my right to have a radio show.

I hope his sponsors wise up.

That argument is disingenuous at best. So instead of saying we want to attack his right to free speech, lets attack his right to have a radio show instead. You do realize that is the same thing right and anyone with shred of common sense is going to see right through that.

Petitions and boycotts are fine. The OP appears to support censorship by the govt. If I misunderstood him, he better clarify.

Yes you do...freedom of speech includes the freedom to be wrong. Now understand the sponsors make money off his show if they did not he would not have a show to begin with. You may be fighting an uphill battle on this one, they are in this to make money.

Just like McCarthy, once people see who he is, he'll go under. Boycott, tell his sponsors to stop sponsoring him.

Must be convenient for you to consider anybody you disagree with politically to be yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. I'm sure that in Nazi Germany, whistleblowers who tried to warn the Germans about the atrocities being committed on the Jews were also considered to be yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, and were "dealt with" by the appropriate punishment.

Depends what you mean by AK47?

All an AK47 is, is a 7.62mm rifle, functionally no different than a semi-automatic .30-06 used in big game hunting all over America.

Automatic weapons are prohibited by US law.

In order to outlaw "AK-47's" would require us to outlaw virtually every semi-automatic hunting rifle in America. Good luck with that.

It isn't about what someone needs, its about the difficulty of distinguishing by law a weapon that is functionally identical to weapons used every day for legal sporting purposes in the USA.

A civilian legal Ak-47 is functionally no different than dad's .30-30 hanging on the wall of many American's homes, it just "looks scary".

Putting Beck or Limbaugh in the same category as Alex Jones is dishonest partisanship. Particularly when you make no reference to intentional reality distortionists such as Michael Moore.

Although considering that you cited Media Maters as your source, I suppose I should expect nothing less.

US =/= Switzerland when it comes to neutrality.

Also when switzerland made that laws it was surrounded by the most powerfull and agrsive countries of the time thus having tons of people with guns wasnt bad after all.
