Ordered is a better word than required and definitely is an infringement on someone's freedom. Some of us behave like good little sheep and go along to get along but some are like pushing a chain. An example is I can't go to a doctor without wearing a mask and Walmart asks me if I would like to have one when I go in but don't turn me away if I don't take one.
One has to wonder how many times Joe Biden, Jill Biden, and Anthony Fauci have to get COVID before the sheep wake up to the fact that they've been played.
Yea, i always feel oppressed when i have to drive on the right side of the road, all of those sheep just driving along like they are free.
Sounds like Santa Monica City College (?) is just trying to put out some default "cover-your-ass" mandates to protect itself from future lawsuits or legal entanglements if (IF) something unexpected happens. It's not at all unusual for any institution or organization to do this and it can keep 'settlement-predators' from targeting them with class-action lawsuits. Think: if you have a list of things that you say must be complied with, then if some conniving schemer drags you into court after something 'goes wrong' in his/her life, you can defend yourself by saying, "We TOLD you up-front NOT to do _______ (fill in the blank)". And while wearing 'asbestos underwear' doesn't guarantee you won't get burned, it's better than running around naked (legally), so to speak.
Driving on the same side as others going in the same direction, has proven benefits. The masks don't. The vaccine doesn't. Doing either of the foregoing, should be personal choice.
I do as do millions like me who are done with COVID and your arrogant and selfish attitude. Masks are done out here. You want more of it, you're free to stay where you are. We won't miss you in the least.
I don't care if you wear a mask or not. I'm not going to bitch and moan about a businesses' mask policy though. I will just do what the owner of that establishment asks me to do. I certainly am not going to act as if being required to wear a mask is an infringement upon my freedom. That is something a child would do.
The Big Deal for some of us is that Mass Formation Psychosis is still in play, showing Californication to be a really crazy place to live, full of easily led sheep.
Oh, yes---you're super open minded. Adopting conspiracy theories doesn't make you "independent". Dunning Kruger...look it up.
They keep looking out the window and seeing sheep, and no one is there to tell them it's a now a window, it's a mirror.
They are codifying common sense to prevent colds and flu. I like the idea of using hand sanitizer. I use it all the time. I think COVID & Associates has taught us some good health lessons. I don’t like the word “mandates”, but you are dealing with kids from various backgrounds, some very clean, some not so clean. BUT: if we are too clean we won’t develop adequate immunities required for a normal life in the herd.
Some people CANNOT wear masks. I know a couple. The difference between conspiracy theory and news seems to be about four months. I remember when people would point and laugh at over the top germophobes, instead of considering them reasonable.
It is hard to reverse mass hysteria. People seem to cling to it for some reason. The only place I see masks any more is in medical facilities. Apparently they are bound by the CDC hysteria.
People with medical conditions that justify ignoring a mask mandate are a totally different situation than someone who thinks they are William Wallace and standing up against oppression by going into Target without a mask. Not even sure what the point of bringing that up is.
You go right to the drinking issue, and yes students today probably do have water bottles with them. And snacks. And these are adult children in jr college.
