It is a fact.

America was built on white supremacy and racial terrorism towards black people and Native Americans.

A lot of Americans are not celebrating Thanksgiving because of America's racist past.

We have come a far way, since the 1960s.

There is still work to do.

Remember this.

 

What does Thanksgiving have to do with America?

That's like not celebrating Valentine's day because of America's racist past.

It makes no sense.

 

Professional victims always find a reason to whine.

 

With white, Christian males in charge, we led the world in nearly every category. As we become multicultural, our international rankings are slipping. But that's mostly due to other countries catching up; they've advanced at an incredible rate (see South Korea).

Obama's dream of the U.S. becoming just another face in the crowd is nearing reality.

 

So you aren't thankful for anything then? That is very sad. Almost all cultures have a time of thanksgiving, for the harvest, family...for being alive. Even a resentful , anti-American angry liberal has things they should appreciate and be thankful for.

Acknowledge it and learn from it in a smart manner.

I am thankful for my family, for my friends, my house, that I live in a country that creates economic opportunity.

The Native Americans were slaughtered by Europeans in a genocidal act.

Thanksgiving is certainly American. The one that we Americans celebrate the 4th Thursday each November.

Its American but has nothing to do with the nation.

Its giving thanks for a feast.

And Jefferson ignored the holiday as did some other presidents. It was until Lincoln came along that it actually meant something.

It certainly has little to do with the nation of America and its nationality and can openly be celebrated by anyone.

As you pointed out, the Indians were part of the creation of it.

Probably the least offensive holiday we have when you think about it.

Well, I'd bet you have met those who are "involved" today - the ones who still feel this nation's discrimination, having not been allowed as equals since colonial days.

I will never understand this need of some people - and they come in all colors - to wait for the approval of some twice bedamned horse's backside's approval before they go get on with living their lives as they see fit. It is your heart that concerns me not the color of your skin. I have found, in the seventy years of life I have thus far lived, that good hearts can be found inside skins of every hue known to man. I have also noted that horse's rear ends are also so divided.

Assuming you're white........take a walk in a black urban ghetto at midnight on a Saturday night.

Maybe they'll buy you a drink and sing kumbaya with you.

Then you will truly understand that the color of skin matters.

 

America was built on the backs of black people. Without black slaves, would white people have built America without black help?

Everything matters to *******s and the less consequential it is the more it seems to matter. My entire neighbor is Latino. The work their butts off.

The problem in the 'hood isn't skin color it's the destruction of the family unit. Do what has been done in the projects to any group of people regardless of race creed or color and you get exactly the same result.

 

There is work to do in dismantling discrimination toward whites, men, and Asians.
