The reason that "not guilty" doesn't mean "innocent" is because in our system of law a person is presumed innocent to begin with. The only way they could be found innocent is if they were already considered guilty.

 

We had that same kind of insurance at the RE Board I was then a director of. I was sued for official libel and the insurance paid all costs of the lawyers. I won by the way.
