You're hopeless. You really don't understand how this works do you? This is really getting absurd.

I am responding to what you said. "Here are 3 examples of your straw man arguments:" That statement alone, is the subject of your argument, which is that you are offering 3 examples of my alleged "straw man" arguments. I use the subject of your argument as the "heading'. The title if you will. I don't have to go beyond that. The very subject of your comment tells us what is to come. And... everything that follows is your own straw man. Do you understand?? Everything else that you offer under that heading IS a Straw Man. The reason it is, is because you took my original comments out of context. You are using a straw man argument to try and indicate a straw man on my part without every establishing that it ever existed in the first place. It's basically a circular argument. The so-called “final proof” relies on unproven evidence set forth initially as the subject of your argument. Basically, the argument goes in an endless circle, with each step of the argument relying on a previous one, which in turn relies on the first argument yet to be proven.

We're all supposed to assume that you're right without you ever providing my words in context. That means, what were you saying prior to my response. You conveniently leave that out. So we have no way of knowing the truth of your claim. Nobody's going to simply take your word on that. You never proved a straw man ever existed, so your entire argument that follow IS a Straw Man. You're attacking what I said and claiming it's a straw man without including your own words so that we can see whether it actually exists.

Then it's obvious that you don't understand this at all. It's not about unedited word for word quotes. That's not what matters. It doesn't have to be altered to be distorted. It's distorted, because we don't know what it was that I was responding to. You left your own words out.

Here's an example that was fairly recent. Mitt Romney made this claim. "President Obama recently said: ‘If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.’
"Clearly, this President doesn't understand how our economy works.

Romney took what Obama said out of context. He selectively quoted what Obama had said. He quoted him word for word, but out of context, which altered the meaning.

    Here's what he actually said.

""If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

Obama was referring to the infrastructure that your business sat on. You didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. Taken out of context, Romney misrepresented what Obama had said. Taking things that people say out of context seems to be a conservative disease.

Imagine a conversation in which I responded to somebody by saying that someone once told me that "the moon was made of green cheese". You might post that I had stated that the I thought that "the moon was made of green cheese". You quoted me exactly but took what I said out of context thereby misrepresenting my meaning.
