Maybe that's why the zen master said, "those who know don't speak - those speak don't know". We have a planet full of jabbermouths uttering incessant bs - including you, me, and everyone at pf - because in reality, no one really KNOWS squat. Oh well - have a nice day.

Interesting point. i bet if there were any religious people that thought what happened was bad, they would be more likely to blame satan than thank god.

Dude, you don't understand Christianity at all. Arrogant would be taking all the credit for himself. He is humbling himself by giving all of the credit to someone else. And it's not like he has a monopoly on Jesus. Jesus is there for everyone. If you choose to ignore or reject him, that's your decision. But stop getting upset because someone else is utilizing something that you are freely choosing not to utilize. That doesn't even make sense unless you are just a crazy control freak who needs everyone to do what you are doing in order to feel secure about yourself.

To be fair, the poster did say it was based on people he has known.

Tebow has acted completely and utterly ridiculous with regards to his faith. His version of Christianity is morally indefensible, sending people to hell because they don't believe it's true and demonizing homosexuals. However, the guy came off a little mean-spirited in the youtube quote. He could've said it in a more discrete way, such as I am tired of seeing Tebow thank God for a touchdown, while kids are starving in Africa. Something to that effect.

And furthermore, Christianity is about thanking God for the good and bad (if you are a true Christian). Where has Jesus been when Tebow was losing? He didn't come out and say thank you Lord for these losses. He actually sounds more like a football player when they don't win. He takes responsibility for his poor performance, which is definitely admirable, but he is not the least bit consistent in his overzealous thanks to the creator of the entire universe for SOMEHOW making the other team lose, and giving him super human ability to win...

or it shows what God's prioroties are ... which makes me glad I'm an atheist because spending eternity with such a mentally deranged God would be ... hell.

its a common theme throughout the abrahamic religions ...

    http://www.alternet.org/belief/1491...asters_are_god's_revenge_on_the_modern_world/

and lets face it throughout human history people have tried to appease the Gods so they wouldn't be angry and visit volcani eruptions, bad weather etc on them ... or they wanted the gods on their side in battles ...

its a particularly unsavoury side of human nature that allows them to see the world in this way.
