Announcement: Please Welcome Our New Addition to The Admin Team!

It is with the greatest pleasure that I announce a change in the staffing structure at Political Forum. One of our longtime moderators, Falena, has agreed to take on an even larger role with the site and become an administrator. This is one of the early steps in a process to increase our staff levels across the board, as part of a larger effort to improve the posting experience for all of our members. Over the next few weeks, you'll see additional staff members added at other levels, and part of Falena's role in her new capacity will be to work with them and help mentor them in her own inimitable style.

Falena will continue to act as a moderator as her time permits, but her primary role will be administrative. When she speaks as an admin, she speaks for the ownership of the board. Any member who has an issue, a concern, a question, or a suggestion is free to send her a PM just as they would me or the owner. She has full authority to act on behalf of the site in any circumstance.

This is a very good day for PF. We not only need more help at this level, we need the kind of help that only a few people are capable of providing, and we're very fortunate to have a Falena available to step into that role. Having her onboard will give us a lot more options for making the site a better, more easily usable experience for everyone. I hope some of you will take a moment to give her a warm welcome and congratulations. And remember - as good a day as it is for PF, it's also a good day for her. In that vein, I hope I can count on everyone to keep the tone of this thread in the spirit in which it is intended. I regret that it's necessary to say this, but this is not intended to be an opportunity to vent or take cheap shots of any kind. Thank you all!

 

I guess I should say something. Ive been thinking for days what to say.

When I decided to take a staff position here, it was to help a site that had given me so many hours of enjoyment, knowledge gained and some of the best goofball moments in Smarties Bar. I wanted to give back something of myself as gratitude.

I have had the pleasure of working with some very high caliber staff members, old and new. I have gained excellent old school knowledge from the previous staff for which I will always be grateful. I have gained fresh knowledge and new vision from the new staff, for which I am extremely grateful.

My goal remains the same from the day I was made a staff member. I am here to represent the members, rules and add input to make this board the best it can be. Now, my roll includes representing the owner. A responsibility that is not taken lightly. The owner of this board created a platform for all walks of life to express their thoughts with one requirement. Do so in a respectful manner. Nothing more. A remarkable gift when you think of it in those terms and for which we all should be thankful.

My thanks and gratitude go out to the members, staff and owner for this opportunity.
