Um, I'm not sure if you've noticed but facts have no power over efjay.

He will just tell you that you shouldn't believe what you read, and instead, you should use google to find the "real truth".

Then, he'll refuse to provide any evidence of his own and just keep insisting that you use google to find "the truth".

It's his MO. He'll never change.

Huh? Its legal but its illegal? If they are in OUR waters, it is ILLEGAL. If they are in someone elses waters, it may also be illegal.

Looks like I need that brick wall again...

    Case in point again.

efjay never provides evidence, he only ever refers people to google.

He never has any sources for his crazy claims.

My prediction was spot on. He will never change.

Correct, it is illegal in Australian waters. And when Japan takes whales in Australian waters it is illegal. You said, "Japan's whale take is legal." How could it be legal when they take whales illegally in Australian waters. Therefore, your premise that Japan's whaling is entirely legal is incorrect.

What's boring is that you keep contradicting yourself and disproving your own premises.

There are many reasons not to hunt these creatures including how beautiful and majestic they are.

There is no real value to hunting there creatures.

For example, the whale or dolphin meat is not a healthy means for nourishment. Despite that, authorities have served kindergarteners and other school children this meat.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2007/08/01/us-japan-whalemeat-idUST6359120070801

"Taiji's bid to expand their school lunch programs to include dolphin and whale meat brought about much controversy. An estimated 150 kg (330 lbs) of dolphin meat was served in Taiji school lunches in 2006. In 2009, dolphin meat was taken off school menus because of the contamination. The levels of mercury and methylmercury taken from samples of dolphin and whale meat sold at supermarkets most likely to be providing the schools' lunch programs was 10 times that advised by the Japanese Health Ministry. The mercury levels were so high that the Okuwa Co. supermarket chain in Japan permanently removed dolphin meat from its shelves"

    Further,

All you have said is that it is illegal in our waters but legal elsewhere. You ignore the fact that those whales have been taken illegally in OUR waters.

What he said was the whales taken by the Japanese were all legally hunted. He's wrong because whales have been illegally hunted in Australian waters.

Bottom line is that efjay doesn't know what he's talking about.

Surely these idiots should spend their time convincing the Japanese people that they shouldn't hunt whales anymore. Rather than wasting their time doing stupid, dangerous and illegal things which they have NO AUTHORITY to police. And then getting themselves into trouble and expecting the taxpayers to spend hundreds of thousands (if not millions) 'rescuing' them when their tiny little brains don't think their actions through to their obvious conclusion.

These morons are achieving nothing other than fulfilling their own delusional fantasies of 'heroism'.

They are the very definition of vigilantes, it's not acceptable, it's not heroic. It's stupid, it's pointless, it's dangerous and on top of that, they expect Australian taxpayer's to be 'happy' about wasting our money on them.

One of their idiots who was interviewed on the 7.30 report said that by his 'calculations' this incident would cost every tax payer only one dollar. Really? In 2004 10.8 million Australian's lodged income tax returns. Apart from the fact that it only cost a few hundred thousand dollars to return these guys to Australia so he obviously can't count, again where the f*ck do they get off with wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars of taxpayers money?

    Eurgh!

I'm against whaling, but these guys are complete dickheads.

I thought Australia only claimed the waters. And that it isnt internationally recognised by other countries. Which would mean its not really our water ?

If anyone should pay for the cost of the Custom's vessel it should be the Japanese - since they decided to detain them and take them so far offshore. They could have put them in a liferaft and told SAR where to pick em up, or met another ship whilst stationary or underway off our coast. The only reason it ended up costing so much was because the Japanese waited so long to decide what to do with them. Was it their fault they had to make a decision, no, but they made the decision to hold them and its that decision which ultimatly cost the recovery money.
