None of the people benefiting from affirmative action were ever slaves. Since the Emancipation Proclamation, and then the 13th amendment, blacks have had equal opportunity. So, that occurred in 1865.

So, you think it takes blacks whose ancestors were slaves almost 280 years to "catch up".

Ask them again when they're 45. I guarantee they'll be over it by then, and will welcome entering an age where the unwanted attention starts to fall away. At least the well adjusted ones will.
