Thanks for the reply, and another nice moon shot! Do you have any more in your albums? I haven't had the time to check out anyone's photography, but I would make it for 'astro-images'. I may try to get serious about photography (astro). Its amazing what the last decade has brought us in the form of fairly cheap digital imaging. Even fairly cheap diggie cams with a powerful zoom take nice shots of the moon, tripods included of course! I have been toying with the idea of astro Binoculars because I could use them camping and for daytime observations as well as some limited planetary fun. I mean buying a cheaper scope and nocks' rather than an expensive scope ...decisions decisions... Rev A
I agree with you. It is very much became available, and optics and digital technology. If take two telescope Maksutov-Kassegrein then we get a good binoculars. Somewhere in web I saw a similar solution. One time i had bother by that idea. But the time is never enough.
The Jewel Box http://mydarksky.org/2009/10/30/ngc4755-the-jewel-box-in-the-southern-cross/ But I have been having a lot of fun searching Scorpius and Sagittarius since they are overhead during our dry season
That is gorgeous Aztec! It looks like you are getting ready to land on it. Poor moon, so battered over eternity. I love the moon, it rules the tides and I am a moonchild.
The moon has no atmosphere, therefore space debris like meteors are not absorbed by atmospheric friction like they are on Earth...believe me Earth is battered by asteroids and meteorities also, even with an atmosphere.
I keep buying them..usually at garage sales. I haven't been satisfied with any of them. I have a friend with a Celestron..one with a tracking system...he can't get it to track properly. So when the need arises to scan the heavens (seldom) I go to the state college and use theirs (when available)
Good time to be doing some sky watching. Five planets visible with the naked eye at different points in the night, and a sixth visible wih a telescope.
