By blaming an inanimate object the lefties can keep on hate mongering while claiming no culpability in the results of their actions and words. They should be especially ashamed of how they exploited those high school kids. Hey whatever it takes, whoever it hurts, it's all good as long as the agenda us pushed forward, right Democrats! https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...GEAE&usg=AOvVaw057c9TOQw8GfteRL9fpChu&cf=1
8 Preposterous NRA Defenses of the AR-15 How many massacres must we endure before assault rifles are banned? In the wake of yet another massacre carried out with an AR-15 assault weapon [3], here are eight ridiculous defenses of the murder machine from the National Rifle Association, a major recipient [4] of donations from assault weapons makers. 1. NRA claim: Banning assault weapons is like racial discrimination. Discussing Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) bill to ban assault weapons following the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre, past NRA president and current NRA board member Marion Hammer said [5], “Banning people and things because of the way they look went out a long time ago. But here they are again: the color of a gun, the way it looks. It's just bad politics.” 2. NRA claim: The NRA put on demonstrations of the AR-15 downplaying the weapon’s capabilities by highlighting how it makes smaller bullet holes than some other guns. In 2013, the NRA held two AR-15 demonstrations at the shooting range at its national headquarters, one [6] for Fox News show Hannityand the other for its own media outlet [7], then called NRA News. Each demonstration dishonestly highlighted the small bullet hole the weapon makes compared to some other guns in order to downplay the weapon’s lethality. In fact, the AR-15 inflicts grievous harm [8] on human bodies, even in comparison [9] to other commonly owned firearms. 3. NRA claim: The Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was carried out with handguns. Actually, the shooter used an AR-15. Months after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, NRA board member Ted Nugent cited a conspiracy theory [10] surrounding the tragedy to claim [11] that “no so-called assault weapon was used in the grisly murders of the children and teachers in Newton,” but that instead “NBC has reported the butcher used four handguns.” The day after the shooting NBC had reported that only handguns were recovered at the site, but corrected its reporting the same day. The weapon used in the attack was an AR-15 manufactured by NRA donor [12] Bushmaster. 4. NRA claim: Blaming AR-15 manufacturer Bushmaster for Sandy Hook is like 'blaming Kleenex for the flu.' Then-NRA News commentator Natalie Foster made the claim [12] in a 2014 video released by the NRA: 5. NRA claim: If the Founding Fathers had foreseen the invention of the AR-15, they would have 'fortified' the Second Amendment 'in stone.' Days after a gunman used an AR-15 to massacre churchgoers in Sutherland Springs, TX (and weeks after a gunman used assault weapons to carry out a massacre in Las Vegas), the NRA released a video[13] encouraging people to buy more AR-15 weapons. NRATV commentator Dom Raso said in the video, “I guarantee if the Founding Fathers had known this gun would have been invented, they wouldn't have rewritten the Second Amendment, they would've fortified it in stone. Because they knew the only way for us to stay free was by having whatever guns the bad guys have.” 6. NRA claim: The AR-15 is 'easy to learn, and easy to use. It’s accurate, it’s reliable' and more people should buy it as protection from terrorists. The NRA released another video [14] days after the Pulse nightclub shooting also narrated by Raso. The video made a number of arguments praising the abilities of the AR-15: “It’s easy to learn, and easy to use. It’s accurate, it’s reliable." All of these characteristics also explained how the Pulse gunman was able to kill and wound so many [15] people in a short period of time: 7. NRA claim: The AR-15 as a good defense against the government. On June 15, 2017, one day after Rep. Steve. Scalise (R-LA) was shot [16] and others were wounded in a mass shooting, then-NRATV commentator Bill Whittle said [17], “I personally think it is a mistake for people to say [the AR-15] is used for hunting, or it's used for target shooting. I have my AR-15 to kill people.” Whittle added, “I am not worried about a deer breaking into my house at 4 o’clock in the morning and coming through the window and maybe murdering me or raping my wife, or anything. I am not worried so much about a coalition of deer marching people into extermination camps.” He also added, “My weapons are here to defend me against my government.” (Whittle left NRATV in September 2017. He was recently uninvited [18] to be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for an Illinois GOP gubernatorial candidate after his history [19] of making racist comments was raised.) 8. NRA claim: Regulating the AR-15 is a 'war on women.' During a discussion of assault weapons days after the Pulse massacre, Dana Loesch appeared [20] on Fox News to claim proposals to regulate the AR-15 were “about disarming women” and constituted a “war on women.” Earlier that day the NRA had announced [21] Loesch had been hired to be the group’s “Special Adviser on Women’s Policy.” She is now [22] the NRA’s national spokesperson. By Timothy Johnson You don't need an AR-15, for home defense and it's not a hunting rifle either?!!
There are many guns similar to the AR-15 with the same capablities... the AR-15 just looks scary to some.. That point is true.. I did not bother to go over the rest of the media matter spew.
Like my step-sister asked me when Hillary was selling guns like hot cakes during the 1992 campaign, "You're not going to buy one of those big, black guns are you?" Nope, don't have a use for one.
I'm hearing that the threat of removing some guns from the market has people scrambling to buy them as fast as they can. Plus I heard that people are joining the NRA in pretty big numbers. All this leftist anti-everything isn't working.
The latest bill by the democrats claims to ban “assault weapons” but actually bans practically every repeating rifle and shothun in America
No, you don't need them, but they are excellent for both home defense and certain types of hunting (no single gun is good for all kinds of hunting). They are pretty close to ideal for home defense, BTW. Every characteristic that makes a gun good for offense makes it good for defense. They are two sides of the same coin. https://gundigest.com/reviews/ar-15-ideal-home-defense-guns
Signalmankenneth, Problem with all that load of crap is there simply haven't been "all those mass shootings involving AR15s" Its simply a lie. The overwhelming majority of mass shootings involved PISTOLS ,FACT. So here we have another lefty knee jerk reaction with absolutely no chance of changing anything. Oh well I could see it coming, it is what the left does.
"In fact, the AR-15 inflicts grievous harm [8] on human bodies, even in comparison [9] to other commonly owned firearms." This complete BS. In Fact the round it uses is commonly referred to as the NATO round, because it was agreed to by NATO because it is LESS LETHAL than other available rounds. The round used by the AK47 is FAR more lethal than the AR15 round. There is so much misinformation being put out there. AGAIN, no matter what law you pass about an inanimate object nothing will change until you address WHY these things are happening.
If the AR-15 is so great at killing people what is this stupid talking point from the left that you don't need it for home defense? Sounds to me like the perfect weapon for home defense. If its not good for killing people then why do you want to ban it in the first place? You can't have it both ways you know.
Let's ask the "exploited high school" kids if they feel they're being "exploited." Oh wait, we can't.
The .223 is the AR15 Round. Take a look at this chart. It is one of the lightest rifle rounds made. FACTS , get you some!!!!
I am not interested in debating on the basis of hysterical emotion, I prefer facts. So to honor the memory of these students you want to pass something meaningless that will make no difference? Nice!
Poster says only interested in debating on the basis of facts. Poster posts "By blaming an inanimate object the lefties can keep on hate mongering while claiming no culpability in the results of their actions and words."
Yes, that's typically what happens. The NRA and gun dealers and manufacturers know the code words to tap the paranoia of thier audience. And they put up the prices in anticipation of scared gun nuts rushing out to pay full retail plus for more guns. There isn't a bigger sucker in the world than the average gun nut. All you have to do is show them black people and foreigners on Fox and have Wayne LaPierre shout about gun grabbers, and the checkbooks come right out. Once the black man left the White House, gun sales collapsed.
For instance you don't need a fully-loaded Sherman tank in your driveway. Or an artillery piece. Or military-grade assault rifles designed to kill entire groups of people. When will you people ever learn?
They probably don't need that drawer full of big, black dildo's they keep next to the bed either but do we complain?
You can buy one (without the guns) at a fairly reasonable price. good thing I haven't won the lottery....
