Nukes are everywhere like it or not. Quite likely in a Russian sub. somewhere of the coast of the USA.

Then they don't need to be in Ukraine on Russia's border.

Biden is pretty sharp. If someone thinks otherwise, it does not reflect well on that person's intelligence. It indicates a propensity to fall for carefully edited bad propaganda.

Trump, however, is in mid-stage dementia. And he's getting worse. Will he make it to the election?

Just as Czechoslovakia should have accepted that peace offer from Nazi Germany, and given up the Sudetenland.

    Oh wait. They did accept.

Appeasing fascists never works out in the long run.

Yeah, and our adventures in Vietnam, Lebanon, Afghanistan went so swimmingly. Well. We did well in Kosovo. Except we never should have been involved in that either.

No one is forcing you to support Russian imperialism, so why do it?

As long as they're in good shape, down-to-earth, and mentally sharp, there wouldn't be anything to worry about.

No, I'm being forced to subsidize Ukraine Fascism. My Grandfather got out of the region over a 100 years ago but I understand I have no relatives alive over there now. Between the Holodomor and Ukraine Nazis, they were all murdered. I got no dog in this fight but I'm 1) Helping pay to extend it and 2) endangering my family as this could turn into a nuclear holocaust we could have avoided and instead, instigated.

I don't believe there are any in Ukraine. They were transferred to Russia after the collapse of the USSR in return for security guarantees from Russia and the USA

The issue is that the plan appears to be, get Ukraine into NATO, then move Western nukes up to Russia's border. Kinda like when Russia wanted to put nukes in Cuba but with the roles reversed.

Where did you get THAT from? The US can nuke Russia from their home territory and clobber it anywhere from their Seawolf class, no one needs to base nukes anywhere.

Oh cool! I guess we can drop out of NATO all together then!
I've read the US can kill everything but the cockroaches just detonating its arsenal within their silos but tactics matter (one reason we even have subs with nukes). Having nukes right on Russia's border allows the US to threaten Russia that they could 1st strike and, as the missiles are right on their border, there will be that much less time for Russia to respond. The fastest missiles launched between Russia and the US take about 1/2 an hour. From the Ukraine border? Maybe seconds?
These tactical considerations play into why we're also developing bio weapons, which is insane. But they're doing it. I hope they don't get us all killed.
Are you un-aware of the desire to get Ukraine into NATO?
EDIT: I concede, to my knowledge, Poland, which has been in NATO since 1999 is not known to have such weapons.

Irrelevant, the US has been able to do that to the Russians since Polaris came on line. The Russians' subs would simply launch a counterstrike, that's what MAD is all about. There was no plot

Do you doubt that powerful interests want Ukraine in NATO?

It comes down to competency. Trump was totally incompetent as president, but luckily there were adults in the room who said no Mr. President you can't do that, that's illegal and we will resign if you order that. It has been thoroughly documented and many were fired for being loyal to the Constitution instead of him. There were record breaking staff turnovers. If he wins the election he will put in place only those loyal to him and the less competent.
