Honor killings are certainly not part of Christian, Jewish, Hindu or Buddhist society.

I'm not bashing Islam. I'm simply correcting your assessment earlier about how great Islamic society is because they have such a low out-of-wedlock birthrate.

I didn't say they were ''great.'' I said Islamic societies have ''values'' that western societies used to have, such as it being socially unacceptable to have children out of wedlock.

Even if we add the number of all aborted babies and honour killings in Egypt to the statistics for single parent families, the proportion of single parent families would still be considerably lower in Egypt in comparison to the west.

 

Honour killings aren't an Islamic practice, they're strictly cultural. It's a cultural innovation, but has no basis in Islam and Muslim scholars do need to a better job at making this clear.

And you can similar events to these "honour" killings in the West... usually involving a couple and one of the two (or both...) cheating on each other and getting caught.

I'd like to know his secret, too.

 

Honor killings do appear to occur more often in primitive societies than sophisticated ones.

That's equating simple murder from jealousy to an Honor Killing. Sorry, but I disagree. It's one thing for a wife to shoot her cheating husband and girlfriend in bed, but another for the father of the wife to murder her because she was seen having tea with a man not her husband or a sister because she became pregnant out of wedlock.

 

So a made up story fulfilled the prophecies of a previous made up story. Well that's proof enough for me.

 

I fear Allah and no other.
It is a HUGE comfort and a relief to be instructed by your Creator to fear Him and no one else.
To not worry about people running their mouth against you.
Fearing God is taken too literally to some people. It means that He is the only One that you can count on. So fearing anyone else is a painful waste of time. Fearing the Only One who can take care of you makes you want to please them- which is staying on the straight path. Doing good deeds and avoiding evil deeds. And then your Lord will be pleased with you and grant you heaven.

 

I don't see any GOD doing much on the TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE...aspect of this concept.

To me the entire relationship seems pretty one sided as people spend huge amounts of time and money praying to some GOD that never holds up it's end of the deal.

God so very much holds up His end of the deal and then some.
It's one thing to look at existence in this life from our perspective. Or to view it from perspective of our Creator.
Did you ever think that difficulties that happen to you actually will be in your favor?
That being granted wealth is a terrible test of one's will, ego and discipline?
That God answers prayers daily. And He knows best when and what to give to his servants now--- or when to give them later. But He always answers them.
Being grateful to God is the first step towards getting prayers answered. Being pissed off at Him and turning away will not get them answered. Sadly- very many people fall in the second category and are bitter about life.

 

Oh...I am not bitter about life. Quite the opposite.

I just can't see how people can attribute all the death and destruction and suffering in the word to...GOD'S PLAN.

If that's the plan then it is time for a new plan.

People have brought much of it - really all of it- onto ourselves. That is the sad part. We are given direction- the straight path. But wow- man is stubborn and wants to do things his way- and wants it all.

God is most merciful. Anyone who realizes an iota of injustice will be compensated for it in this life and the afterlife. Anyone who perpetrates injustice will pay for it too. All is balanced with God. This life is fleeting. We can't take as much stock in it as we do unless we are trying to compete in doing good deeds for mankind and the less fortunate.

No- because my faith continues to increase.
Sure as a human- and with the influence of Shaytan (satan) whispering in our ears, we will always deny our reality and question for a moment the existence of God and everything. But for me it is fleeting. I always ask for God's mercy and strength to overcome weak moments and thoughts.

God's existence has been proven to me so much throughout my life- it is mind blowing. If you open your heart to it, it's the most amazing thing. To me, it is reality. It's not some type of mystical wierdness. It is truth and reality.

 

Well...I am happy for you that you have such Faith.

Unfortunately...the more a person tends to know about the reality of things...the less possible certain Religious Ideology can seem possible.

According to the story the Islamic hell is filled mostly with women. That seems an inglorious end for people who had strong faith.

 

I understand the idea to question it be skeptical. But taking a chance and trying to look at things from a completely different perspective can be awe inspiring.

I have never read anything of the such in the Qur'an or any other Islamic teaching. I have read that it is filled with disbelievers, sinners. Those of old and of late. Those that committed the worst sins (ie crimes against humanity), those that didn't repent, those that worshipped false gods. I never heard reference to gender in hell. Just some very unhappy souls who wished for a second chance to make things right- and they aren't getting it.

 

Fear is used to mean respect the instructions of. Not be scared sh*tless of.

 

The idea that FEAR in any way shape or form for whatever reason could be a GOOD THING...is utterly ridiculous.

Now I have had experiences with Religious Extremists be they Muslim, Christian or Ultra-Orthodox Jews and I can tell you one thing I have learned...all of these kind of people are COWARDS!

They are so scared of possibly finding out that their extremist positions and beliefs might be wrong...they will do ANYTHING....to keep their status quo.

Of these three Extremist Groups...ALL...seem to VILIFY WOMEN and for a person such as myself who is an Alpha Male and LOVES EVERYTHING THERE IS ABOUT WOMEN....I find such peoples beliefs, attitudes and actions DISGUSTING AND COWARDLY.

I have seen how Male Christian Extremists will treat women specific to a woman's reproductive rights and how these people will actually feel that they are threatened by Feminists.

Muslim Religious Extremists are even WORSE and I have been in the field watching through the scope upon a Barrett .50 Cal as a women was STONED TO DEATH.

And the Ultra-Orthodox Jews seem to vilify YOUTH as they do everything possible to drain the fun of life out of their young kids.

I'm in the fourth group - radical Atheists. I hate muslims, I hate thugs, I hate anything that can get in the way a wonderful life for my wife and children. And I have put up with a world full of crap to make sure they don't have to. I'm kind of a NIMBY guy though. I will quietly hate those folks until they start creeping around my property. Then sh*t gets real and they are going to meet their makers.

 

These kind of people are always all Big and Bad when they are acting against a Woman.

They act very differently when confronted by the MAN who loves that woman.

It was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or are they ungrateful to Allah?) If you have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from you."

Nobody would dare be big and bad against my wife or my five daughters. And shame on islam for abusing women. I say it needs to be erased from the earth for the good of the future of humanity. Sometimes you have to surgically remove a cancer.

 

You really can't say this about all Muslims because most are not like the crazy Islamic Extremists people have been exposed to.

They are just people like anyone else and there are crazy Christians and Jews as well.

When some Jews and Christians take over 4 jet airliners and destroy the pentagon and some skyscrapers I will revisit your view. Until then the only good muslim is a dead muslim. And to be clear, true muslims are not peaceful. Their religion commands them to be crazy and extreme, and their leader liked 6 year old baby girls. Maybe boys too for all I know.
