Asian racism. Why don’t we hear much about it?

Expats are often a very different crowd to those in the home country. The Cuban expats are a good example of this.

As far as Chinese-Americans go, the last figure I saw was 42% support for the Democrats. I imagine they'd find it very difficult to support the Democrats if they were publicly anti-black.

When your group also has a history of discrimination against them, and has been very successful at overcoming this through hard work and discipline, you might view some of these issues differently. The Roof Koreans from the Rodney King riots sure did.

It is all in the moment. Yes, the Democratic party discrominated against Asians, specifically the Chinese in the 1850s in the predecessor of the Jim Crow laws and the anti-Japanese sentiment of the early to mid 20th Century, especially in California. But today, you have conservatives now who are actively doing the same citing "national security issues" which was the same in which some 200000 Japanese Americans and residents were in our own concentration camps during WW2 and segregated among Japanese, German, and Italian who were a lot less scrutinized than Japanese Americans.

But in my experience, most Asians don't trust either party in full. Asians do like the business proposals of the GOP, but not the xenophobia that is a significant theme within the GOP today. The Democrats, they like the anti-discrimination policies and voting rights agenda, but not the economic agenda of the Democratic party. And most really try not to get involved in politics even as Citizens and eligible to vote.

Finally, the figure that you are quoting is showing that they are either voting democrat party or supporting their causes. But you don't have 58% supporting the GOP. That figure is like 10%. The rest are independent or don't care or not voting categories.

I wasn't saying 58% support the GOP, I used it to indicate a level of support for Democrats. Unless you at least don't publicly oppose intersectional politics you'd find a tough time in the Democrats, which indicates a fair number of that 42% probably have orthodox DNC views on race.

The GOP is making at least some positive moves on the xenophobia topic, as they realize the "demographics is destiny" theme is inaccurate, and there are far more important lines that run through culture than race. For example, they might share a lot of values with religious Hispanics and expats from left wing regimes who left to experience things like free enterprise, individual responsibility and religious freedom.

Where this all goes from here is an open question, but there are definitely values these legal migrants could share with either side depending on various factors.

You don't hear about it because they are too busy making money and being successful to even give a crap. We could learn a lot from this group of people. They are also the HIGHEST earners in the USA

Even assuming you accept the validity of the video, it's questionable to say the least to generalize about Chinese here by looking at Chinese in China. Do you generalize about white Americans by looking at white European thinking?

Why are you generalizing about Chinese Americans based on opinions of Chinese people in China?

"Some positive moves" offset by not dealing with racists in their party. Since Trump, there are fewer "positive moves" at a time when racial and ethnic groups are increasingly important. White Republicans are an impediment to the Republican Party shifting away from racism.

Democrats have backslid into their own race problems. Consider The Jeffersons tv show where the black lead character was a racist constantly challenged by his colorblind black wife. Democrats acknowledged back then that black racism exists, now they're silent when blacks might be criticized for organizing protests that ignored state governors' calls for efforts to mitigate covid.

Too much video showing who the folks attacking the Asians, are.

LIFE IN THE BLUE ZONES: No prison time for black man who set Asian Berkeley students on fire with homemade blowtorch: Prosecutor funded by George Soros gets criminal sent to ‘diversion program.’

'Remember all the “Stop Asian Hate” posturing? That went away when people started pointing out where the violence was coming from.'

'The two students were not the first victims of McGlone, who earlier in the day had said he “wanted to light someone on fire” and then proceeded to carry out his wishes.'

'He first chased one man down the street and tried to light him on fire after spraying him with WD-40. “Another man also ran from McGlone to escape being set on fire after being sprayed with a liquid while waiting in line at Taco Bell Cantina,'

'McGlone’s next stop was Feng Cha Tea House, at 2528 Durant Ave., where he found students waiting in line to order food and drinks.'

'He sprayed two of them with WD-40 and used a lighter to ignite the gas, creating a massive fireball, witnesses said.'

'The students managed to pat out the flames and escape injury. Members of their group then confronted McGlone and fought with him in the street.'

'During the fight, according to testimony, McGlone first pulled out a knife and then pulled out a hatchet.'

Actually, the media tries to pretend it's perpetrated by whites.

But this is the correct answer.
