However there are a few people out there that don't seem to think so. And I find their reasoning very confusing.

 

LDS view themselves as Christians. Christians do not include LDS as Christians, because they have added other holy books to the bible. The bible says that it is complete and that anyone who adds to it is false. When I was sixteen I asked my LDS girlfriend to look up a passage in her bible that said this, and the verse(I think) didn't say the same thing. Both of our bibles said "King James" version on them.

 

Interesting story. But I think you have a slightly skewed perception of it.

Nothing was added to the Bible - there were some retranslation of certain passages though but that is in the Joseph Smith Translation section, not in the Bible instead, it is usually in one of the appendices. This reason I can say why people don't call us Christians. But the Articles of Faith address the translation issues as well.

Also, the Book of Mormon is a separate record entirely independent of the Bible. Separate book. Now often you'll find members with a 'quad' which has all the books of all the canon scriptures we use bundled into one, but the books are simply not intertwined.

I'm not saying that anything was added, just that in fifteen minutes I found somewhere in the bible where it said that the bible is complete, and nothing needs to be added. Then when my girlfriend looked same thing up in her bible, hers did not in any way have the same point(it was just one verse that we checked). Quite literally the point made in my bible was not to be found in hers. Maybe it was from the translation that JS made, makes sense to me. And Joseph Smith adds other books that are also the word of God, and they are the only "Christians" that do this, and this is what causes them to not be accepted by other Christians. Look I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm just trying to answer the question that someone asked. I will say that the basic messages of Christ and the Christian values are not changed in any way.

 

Correct, it is in revelations somewhere towards the end. Although there is speculation as to whether that is only Revelation or the Entirety of the Bible itself. We need to keep in mind that the Bible is incomplete because not all the books that were available were selected to be in the Bible by the Catholic church. The Apocrypha comes to mind.

But I am curious, which reference in scripture 'disappeared' in here Bible? I'd like to give that a look see.

 

It was almost fifteen years ago, I'm not sure which one it was. I know there are bible search websites that would probably bring it up though.

I term myself a Christian and I believe firmly that Latter Day Saints are every bit as Christian as I am......
they are just exceptionally well read. The Mormons that I have met online have often already read several
apocryphal books like The Book of Enoch, The Book of Jasher, The Book of Adam and Eve, The Book of Jubilees,
The Testament of the Patriarchs..... and Mormons are often not offended by near death experience accounts which I
consider to be a wonderful thing.

I have a theory on the specific statements by the fifteen year old Israeli young man who had a near death experience and was
shown a scenario for a transition into the Era of Moshiach / Messiah...... .that could be rather interesting to many Latter DAy Saints.
