    Assange is a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)...

And yes, this is hilariously hypocritical...

Hmm...if they went against the contract then I would be inclined to support him on this...but there seems to be a bit of confusion over what the deal is...

Seems to me that he can dish it out but he just can't take it.

He had a deal with them and they broke it.

Assange didn't have a deal with the US government, etc.

    The ignorance is hilarious.

    It's not ignorance...

It's laughing at Assange for getting upset with someone for doing exactly what he is known for doing...

    LMAO

Is ignorance bliss? This isn't what Assange was doing. He wasn't going around spilling information on private citizens.

No, he was going around putting out classified information that could potentially put lives at risk...

    Not his own, of course...

But, that's a noble cause, right?

    A deal really?

I have read wikileaks for years, and yet I have no problem seeing this as comical.

If he had a deal, then that is fair enough. You cannot break a deal.

He has a deal with Canongate books. They are not a huge global publishing house with megabucks to throw away. They are a smaller firm with a little office off the Canongate in Edinburgh. Don't get me wrong, they have some very good writers on their books, but they don't have money to burn.

I don't think they can afford to pay out an amount like that to Assange and not see a return on it. The loss could possibly close them down. He will have to fulfill his commitment. They are only trying to recoup the money they have already handed to him.
