And in some areas we do.

In some areas, the areas that I am criticizing, atheists do as well.

I also continually make the delineation that not all atheists do that, but a signifcant portion do - enough that they have hiojacked the public narrative of atheism.

    Simple plain English.

Difficult for another atheism who is simply looking to be contrarian to understand? Yep, you are victim.

You can't say all atheists are the same in one post and then turn around and say there are exceptions.

Why not? Why is it not acceptable to point out that the vats majority of atheists are screaming that atheism is not a religion, but then acknowledging that we have some seeking status as a religion?

The delineation makes the general point without scrambling those not doing it.

Unlike all Christians support slavery right?

the ever changing standards of atheism in action.

Nobody is ignoring that an inmate went to the federal courts to do so. NOBODY. We all acknowledge it. The fact of the matter is, though, is that it was the only way the inmate could seek legal relief which you and others constantly ignore. Not only that, but the federal courts don't decide what definitions are for words outside of the legal realm and they never have.

There are many ways to seek legal standing. When the chips were down and atheists had to make a decision ... they acknowledged what everyone else already knows, atheism is a religion. Its nt a very good religion, but it is a religion nonetheless - one given the Cinstitutional protections available to ALL religions, including NON-FAVORITISM.

    Go figure.

But random emotional excuse means everyoe has to accept random atheists duplicitious reasoning? No thanks, my religion makes overt dishonesty a bad thing. Fell free to disagree, but then ... you aren't Christian.

Except everyone does not 'know' that. Even if it were true (and, to reiterate my first post on this thread, I think it depends on your viewpoint), it's plain as day that there are plenty of people who don't understand what it is or isn't.

I really don't care if you call atheism a religion or not. I think it's a misuse of the word (religion) but what the heck, if that floats your boat have a ball. It is what it is, i.e. not believing in a god or gods. Nothing more.

Ok, then everything atheits are doing on this forum can no longer be called atheist. Every arguement wil hence forth be shut down, because another atheist is confirminb that atheisim is just one sentence. All else is false about atheism.

Its plane as day Prof, that the reason people don't understand what it is or is not is because of the diffulty atheists have in classifying and conforming to standards. If its not a religion. what is it? Not coporation. its not a person. What is it?

Not for a specific standing. An inmate can't create a corporation like you thought they could and forming a corporation doesn't give you the right to freedom of free exercise. So, no, you also don't know any specifics about law.

There are other ways G, and those avenues all fail atheism save one: religion.

So either atheism is a dishinest as a snake oil salesman and sought legal standing under false pretenses, or, it doesn't fit any other category and is a religion.

The simple fact of the matter is that atheism apes religion in EVERY way that atheists say they hate religion.

    It preaches.

    It recruits.

    It raies funds.

    It hold obnoxious public displays.

It has policy initiatives and routinely interfers in governance.

Its disruoptive and in your face.

    Etc.

The only problem is that, based on the porpoganda of atheism, which sees theology around every corner, underneath every church pew, and on every suny morning, its religion that causes every bad thing in the world. Ergo, because atheism is ... er, solution ... which is apparently to surpass the master in every category of public debauchery, atheism cannot be a solution.

    Any excuse will do.

At least until the chips are down, then atheism is a religion.

What is at stake is the reality of modern atheism. Withour religion to rail against what is atheism? Right. Nothing.

Perhaps that explains the paranoia of seeing rapists and slavers everywhere?

Wow, a contradiction in one sentence. There are other ways to gain those protections but they all fail? Then there aren't any other ways, genius.

Genius, If they fail to give you standing because you don't qualify, you are not it. Pretty simple. But, I guess the SCOTUS is all screwed up and they need a ... master of the greek langauge to get it right for them.

Your ego is your problem kiddo.

Now, perhaps you should take a deep breath, figure out why atheism is not a religion and actually make a case. Stop just going with whatever pops into your head, because the noodley appendage of the FSM is not whispering wisdom into your ear.

I do like how you simply ignore the rest of the post to become fixated on one sentence. A problem that also leads you to see slavers everywhere, correct?

I ignored the rest of the sentence because it is the same old tired BS that you trot around here, namely that one atheist represents the totality of atheism. If you want to continue this mindless back and forth, then I'm simply done talking to you. I already tried to restart with you once, and you failed to even try. You are the embodiment of hypocrisy. You want to be treated fairly and without derision, and yet you fail to treat others how you want to be treated. You know, what your Christ told you to do? You simply aren't a Christian because you actively try not to follow Christ's commandments.

No, you ignored it because you cannot rebut it, th enoodley arm of the FSM cannot give you wisdom with enough cover to make it look like its not an overt lie.

And more personal insults. We are done G. You are trolling and I am wasting my time casting pearls to literal swine. Enjoy your prejudice and dishonesty, I am sure it will bring you anentirely different set of conseqences than everyone else who uses it.

What nonsense. Your little list is just complete bullocks.

Are unions "religions"? Because they do everything you just listed.

Are political parties "religions" they also do everything you just listed.

Charities? They also do everything you just listed.

Just because there is some organisation that collects funds for legal action to sue people or the state for what they think is violating the separation of church and state, DOES NOT MAKE ATHEISM A RELIGION. Even if that organisation has "Atheism" somewhere in the title.

That Atheism or non-belief is considered a "religion" for the purposes of interpreting a 200 year old legal document, DOES NOT ACTUALLY MAKE IT A RELIGION anymore than a Corporation is ACTUALLY A PERSON.

Atheism is NOT a religion, and Theism is NOT a religion.

Atheists can belong to a religion, Buddhism, Secular Humanism, whatever.

Theists can belong to a religion, Christian, Islam, Judaism, etc.

This is really not difficult to understand.

It's a position on a religious matter. You're quite right that some atheists don't quite grasp that concept, although in my experience most of them do.

Unions can gain legal standing as buisnesses - and they do. Unions also have a main function dealing with labor - rather than God. THey have never sought, nor have their recieved preferred treatement as a religious organization.

Is that what atheism is? A political party?

Many charities are indeed faith based, indeed you atheists attempted to block federal funding to them based solely on that faith choice - and lost. How quickly you will switch your standards, eh.

    Is atheism a charity?

When they do so from the legal basis of a religion? Yeah, that is a key piece you are missing. Atheism is not a charity, its not a union, its not a political party. So what is it? Well, legally, its a religion. Go figure.

A coporation is not attempting to claim it is not actually a coporation though is it?

There we have that standards shift, in the prison thread, atheists can ONLY be self declared atheists with pride. Now, they can be secular humanists and Buddhists, or just really succssful scientists who are theists (that last part will be over looked).

    Nope, we are not religions.

Does yiour standard fly in reverse?

The application of rediculous excuses never is.

Apparently you completely missed the point, once again, which is unsurprising. Your little test for Atheism being a religion is just completely moronic and has no relevance to anything. Even if "Atheism" did all those things, that still doesn't make it a religion.

No, legally it's treated the same as a religion. That doesn't actually make it a religion.

Do you think your statement makes sense? Okay... Atheism isn't trying to claim it's not actually Atheism.

Once again, a Corporation is not actually a person, even if it is defined as such for the purposes of interpreting the Constitution. Anyone who isn't a complete and utter moron could understand this.

Anyone who doesn't have a belief in any deities is an Atheist, it's not hard to understand. That can include Buddhists, secular humanists, or any number of other religions or ideologies.

Christianity isn't a religion? This... is really your argument?

So these are the ways you see atheism aping religion?
Quite a scathing indictment of religion, if you ask me.
Why are you a part of one?

How do you propose to indict religion and simultaneously inoculate Atheism against the same indictment?

At minimum, it makes Atheism legally a religion.

If you are legally a man, is there any way in which you wouldn't be considered a man? Not "treated like" - that is a descriptor you fabricated because you needed to provide some way to contort the actual court ruling to give you cover.

That fails. You're arguing a distinction sans a difference.

What matters here is that Atheism is having the same impact on society that any proselytizing religion has: it is attempting to control what we believe, worship and celebrate, and it attempts to impose its will on others.

Non sequitur. Atheism isn't a person either.

 Ask the poster who calls themselves a "Muslim Buddhist".

Doesn't have to worship a 'deity' in order to be a religion.

That is not what he said.

I don't. I'm pointing out the absurdity of his post. He was unable to indict atheism without tainting religion.

    Get it?
