    They're not "illegals". They are legal asylum seekers.

    Stop watching the Bolt Report; you're getting incorrect information.

    The 1951 UN Convention makes them legal.
    It makes no difference that you think the Convention is too old: the fact still remains that they are legal asylum seekers. Your opinion doesn't matter; only the facts matter.

    So why are people so up in arms over the very few refugees who reach our shores by boat and yet don't give a flying (*)(*)(*)(*) about the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants who arrive by plane?

    Oh right, those arriving by boat are like sand (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s and the like, right? Yeah, that's it, it's pure racism and nothing else.

    The 1951 UN Conventon is nearly as old as dinosaurs and deserves, like dinosaurs, to be thrown into the basket case of history.

    Let's update our legislation and stop sinking in the smelly mud of outdated Conventions of times long past.

    Why are we so stuck with an outdated Convention?

    Dinosaurs are actually from PREhistoric times and even in a YEC world 1951 wouldn't be nearly as old as the dinosaurs.

    But you conveniently 'forgot' to mention that it was only over the last three years, the same period in which this reckless (fiscally as well) Labor Government has been in power. But maybe, it is starting to really govern this country, as the following information, from the same report, which you also conveniently 'forgot' to mention in your post:

    'In stark contrast, the department approved only 39 per cent of protection visa requests for non-boat arrivals in the first half of this financial year, or 909 people from the 2321 people who applied.'

    Must be those who arrived by plane and were caught overstaying their holiday visa, which makes up the vast majority of illegal immigrants. Many though aren't caught it seems and just vanish into the population.

    Point taken, but the post still only covers the last three years, a period in in which this hopelssly incompetent Labor Government has been in power. And it stupidly dismantled the system so carefully installed by the Howard Liberal Government. How stupid can a Government be to dismantle a system that was working so well!

    These misnamed asylum seekers are queue jumpers pure and simple.The ordinary Aussie is not deceived by the nonsense put out by their advocates, who don't care if these people are criminals and/or child molesters.

    These children are being used (abused) by the misnamed asylum seekers as pawns to push, shove and bludgeon their way into OZ. How pathetic that some people in OZ can't (or refuse) to see what is very, very obvious.

    The asylum seekers do have an invitation: it's in the 1951 UN Convention (I know you think it's too old, but it is still legitimate).

    Also, see Article 14 of the 1948 Universal declaration of human rights which says "everyone has the right to seek asylum".

    The queue streches and winds its way to Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq.

    Yes! It's a very very long queue!

    So frustrating for those who have been waiting so patiently, for years perhaps, in a proper queue.

    Someone said some years ago that 'life wasn't meant to be easy'. So apt for those waiting so patiently in a proper queue!
