and quite a few cost many thousands of $. Since there's "only" 50 million gun owners (haha, more like 100 million, guys) ,and a KNOWN 300million+ guns in the US, the average gunowner has at least 1k $ invested in guns. And you "think" that we'll just hand them over, cause you "passed a law"? :) Shove your laws that render us helpless before our enemies!

Thru almost 50 years of ardent study, I have managed to reduce the cost of my current "collection" of guns ( total of 4, bought in used condition, assembled from parts kits, etc) to about $2000, but I've got easily twice as much more invested in accessories, reloading tools ammo-assembly-components, gunsmithing tools, books manuals, bullet casting tools, etc. To say nothing of 50k+ spent on ammo, 10k more spent on travel to training and matches and hunts, 5k spent on training, and thousands of hours of dryfire and live fire. As a matter of fact, I'm intermittently dryfiring at the ceiling as I recline and type up this post. The magazine is loaded and the chamber is empty, so I can cycle the slide (and fire) as fast as I can swing the gun towards an intruder. (ie, sub one second, count on it, if the gun is in my hand at the time. If I have to snatch it up, another 1 second, but hey, I'm also a black belt. If I wasn't, I'd keep one gun on my person, fully loaded, while I dryfired with another. I mean, if you're going to have a gun at hand, why not have it (almost) ready to fire, hmm? be a shame to have spent all that time and money and then, when the attack occurs, not have the gun ready. I mean, how often do you get the chance to shoot some pos who needs shooting (really badly)?

They can't confiscate all the weapons, its just physically impossible. If they instituted a buyback program they would only get a very tiny fraction of them back.

Its honestly too late for gun control in the US as far as getting them out of society goes. The most you can do is up the penalty if you have them but that's not going to happen either.

Liberals know this but they like to try and pass it anyways because even though its pointless it makes them feel good. They spend a lot of time passing stuff that is pointless now that I think about it.
