I'm sure it was very traumatic for the libs who live there.

But think of the bright side.

They will get those FEMA credit cards that they can buy booze and hookers with.

At least five people killed by the storm in New York state, including a 30-year-old man crushed by a falling tree in the New York City borough of Queens

Three killed in New Jersey, including two parents whose car was crushed by a falling tree; their two children, 11 and 14, survived

A woman in West Virginia who died in a collision in heavy snow caused by the storm

"boohoo. seems a disgraceful thing to say really.

At least six million homes and businesses are without power.

In all, about 50 million people could be affected by the storm

With up to a million ordered to evacuate their homes.

    But yeah "boohoo".

He has his right to speak. But let this Jersey guy now let you know. Your outrage that 2 dead former seals don't get medals but lack of concern for the dead from Sandy says a lot about you.

I would say "near contempt" for the victims of the storm, from what I've read.

Romney does not want to get rid of federal help he want to kill the fat FEMA pig.

As far as people killed I am sorry about that. Were they under evacuation orders? How many people are killed up there every day? Hey lets send FEMA to Chicago to help with the human disaster.

Romney’s paean to states’ rights ignores the very important role of FEMA in coordinating disaster relief in events that transcend state boundaries. Hurricane Sandy is expected to impact fourteen states and the District of Columbia; its impact stretches from Maine to North Carolina, and from West Virginia to Massachusetts.

Furthermore, FEMA manages disasters on scales beyond the capacity of states to manage them. Hurricane Katrina did over $100 billion in damage to Louisiana in 2005. The entire annual budget for the state is about $25 billion. Simply, states that are hit by devastating natural disasters are usually in no position to manage the crisis by themselves.

let me get this straight. You're (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about Obama cutting money from Fema, while you are supporting a candidate who wants to completely eliminate it?

Well, conservatives have never been known for logical consistency, in my experience.

Entertaining might be one way to describe watching these liberals praise federal response to natural disasters after so much criticism of its response to Katrina. Oh, I forgot, that was because Bush hates black people. HAHAHAHAHAHA Unreal, you people.

so instead your gonna vote for the one that made the template CongressCare was built on

so far the only thing missing from what Obama wanted was a PUBLIC OPTION, so we the people could decide

conservatives offered us the individual mandate to replace the public option

the health care bill is only a starting point, it can be tweaked as needed, throwing out the baby with the bath water is not a option

Have you ever been in a hurricane? Have you seen FEMA at work first hand? Do you work for of know anyone who works with US federal programs? I have and do. So your opinion is really nothing to me.

This is the northeast, not Hillbilly ********* Heaven Texas. The people have the sense to check their computers. I recall Christie's speech yesterday reminding them to keep phones and computers charged.

Anyone who needs assistance for this disaster should contact the American Red Cross for temporary relief until FEMA and state governments can set up the intake process, which is usually up to three days after thei initial storm surge. Private business would find this far too risky and very little profit for this type of thieng. What's worse, it allows unscrupulous personas and busienss to fully take advantage of people who will be very desperate. I cannot think of a more ignorant idea about "privatizing" this function of government that has been in existance since the Eisenhower Administration.

Look we are not talking about killing FEMA with nothing in its place. Also I was not asking anyone but Leffe for good reason. Where is Leffe? He can not know.

If you are using only Katrina as anample, then you are a foo. If you look at the the history of FEMA, there are more good examples, like the FEMA work in 2004 in Florida with 4 hurricanees or with teh midwest flooding in 2009. Finally when you have FEMA budgets cut for mitigation projects such as the levies in N.O., usually, that spells disaster sooner rather than later.

So, basically, your opinion is uneducated and very ill advised.

As FOX News said this morning, the FEMA office in New York wasn't even open this morning. State and local authorities know best what to do, how to do it, and who should be doing it.

Actually not. Have you seen millions of dollars go to waste? I have right here in NC. I saw people needing the help, the items needed to help them and FEMA stood there. Yes this is again a trailer issue. Gross mismanagement and full of corruption just like the rest of government.

No! I don't think you know what I am talking about.

So the plan in North Dakota will work here on the Gulf Coast? Where did you get that idea? Where did you get the idea that some government employees in Washington DC know better how to handle our hurricane preparedness and rescue and recovery than our local officials here who plan and drill for it year round?

Right. I suppose you somehow know if those offices would be open today?

Let's face reality, shall we? Mitt spouted a bunch of (*)(*)(*)(*) about reducing the size of the government and now his comments are coming back and biting him on the ass a bit.
