Some of us could not care less about the man. What we note is the attack on justice.

FFS, open your eyes and stop being blind to the world around you. If you think your government and the media have your best interests at heart, you are incredibly naive.

My eyes are open with the understanding that Russell Brand allegedly assaulted at least 4 women and no the UK government is in no way trying to shut brand Brand up for the crap he posts on social media. In fact, the government actually posted about being fair to Brand by stating that if he does have to stand trial, some of the stuff being posted on line could be used against him. They were basically saying don’t poison the well with lies and trash talk as potential jurors could read it. That is not an example of trying to shut Brand up.

My eyes are open to the extent that the government where I live has made it possible to have free health care, free glasses and dental care for children, up to 30 hours per week of free daycare, five weeks of paid vacation, paid pregnancy leave, and so on. These are good things, so therefore the government is working for the people. They have also acted in incredibly stupid ways as well. The government could definitely improve a lot on some of the things it does.

I am not going to live in a random world where I believe everything is bad. Media, that cover a lot of outlets, and yes some do care, and others just post random crap to increase their readership and advertising revenues. I am not naive at all. I have perspective where I don’t need to use the government or the media to excuse the alleged sexual assaults perpetrated by Brand. I have a healthy perspective where I can see the positives and negatives. Again, stop looking to exonerate an alleged rapist because he chooses to go on social media to make outlandish claims because is smart enough to know there are enough suckers in the world who will believe him, and rather than concentrate on the allegations will wander all over the internet spouting inane theories about how the government is trying to shut him up.

You're incorrect. There was a rape kit done with DNA on one of the women. Not an issue though as Masterson didn't contest ****ing her at that time.

Further: Masterson and Scientology drew up an NDA and a pay off of 400k to the same woman.
NDA and payoff tend to indicate awareness of and admission of guilt. Further: He wrote her an apology for the rape as part of that process.
So there's that, along with all the "never met her...... ok so maybe I met her" lies.

I can be as sweary as I like, there is a profanity filter for ****'s sake.

above is a great paragraph...it has been my thought for many years

to put it more simply...the government is not all bad

and next time you feel the need to bash the world

    think of the below

people can become famous and multi millionaires playing poker ..it is a card game,,

no talent podcasters make millions for spouting BS for hours on end...it is just BS...
and without head phones most podcasts would never even get started

Athletes the world over earn millions and millions ..they are just playing a game

Ronaldo knocked down $400 million this year...the average NFL players salary is $2 million per year...

Floyd Mayweather earned $350 million fighting a loudmouth tough guy

every week , people become millionaires for buying a lottery ticket that happen to have the matching numbers

100 years ago the above was not even dreamed of...now it is reality

I am not a poker player or podcaster or athlete , but I do buy a lottery ticket once in a while

    I have hope!! lol

    with this said

world hunger is at an all time low

most countries in the world have a democratic government system

with a hand held toy, a person can communicate with others around the world

and with built in translators, even language has stopped being a barrier

and when crimes are committed, in todays world, most are not swept under the rug
even when the crimes were committed years previously, many are brought to justice despite the time frame

this is not to say the world is perfect and has no problems...

Russia, Putin, N Korea , Kim Jong Un are both bad guys and need to be taken out

in a more uncivilized world , these 2 countries would be wiped out

a teacher needs 20 years to earn what an athlete earns in 1 ..kinda sad

same for police , fireman and most public servants...

people gladly pay more for entertainment than any other service

IMHO, the biggest problem in the world today is the below 2 words

    POLITICAL CORRUPTION

every country that has its people feeling for a new life have this in common

    all are politically corrupt...

please tell us what the below paragraph is about??

is it about Russell brands accusation??

Yes, the purpose of this whole ordeal, to silence him, by any means necessary.

"Oh, for your own good, Russell, you might want to stop speaking out against us. Really, it's for YOU, we promise. We certainly would not want you to stop pointing out our abuses and hypocrisy, but for your own good, you better..."

    Uh huh...right.

Yes it is. Somebody tried to claim that the government is trying to silence Brand and then called me naive related to how the government behaves. Of course, that person did not provide any proof whatsoever. I refuted his claim related to his comments about our government by demonstrating they at least do something for us. I suppose it was indirectly related but it wasn’t meant to take people off on a tangent about how governments are corrupt. No matter how corrupt a government is, anywhere in the world, it has nothing to do with whether or not Brand raped some women.

The three media agencies that jointly did the four year investigation are not government owned. The BBC who decided to remove Brands content is not government owned as every single tax payer in the UK contributes to it in a small amount. The government sets the licensing fee and appoints the chairman of the board. The BBC removed some Brand’s content based on public expectations. Comedy Central removed some content on its own volition with no interference by the government, as did YouTube. There is absolutely no proof other than the rantings of alleged rapist that might lead one down the rabbit hole that he is innocent due to government censorship. That makes no sense. Just like the comments that governments are all bad. The point is any government has good, bad, and evil things about it but that in itself does not exonerate somebody from rape. If CPS thinks there is enough evidence after an investigation, there will be a trial. If there isn’t, there will be no trial. At the end of the day, somebody is lying — the accusers or the accused? Only time will tell.

It really gets up my nose when people totally disregard the claims of alleged rape by believing bizarre and blatantly false comments related to the government. I wonder if Brand honestly believes that if his case goes to trial that a good defence is “I’m Russell Brand and anything I have to say is so important and wonderful that the government has to censor me”. What an arse. The government doesn’t give one **** about what he has to say on social media. Brand is trying to get the focus of the alleged rapes and onto the government. He has a lot of evidence against him which is based on provable information.

This thread is supposed to be about Russell Brand and not about somebody’s rather warped views of the government. If this person honestly believes that our government is trying to silence Russell Brand then he needs to provide some reliable proof.

I never said governments are all evil. They're not, they are very necessary and provide many important services. However, if you think that they are not abusing power to silence those that try to uncover their abuses and bring corruption to light, then you are, as I said, naive.
The same thing was done to Julian Assange and to Snowden. Whistleblowers are shamed and blackmailed into silence all the time. Look at the UFO coverups in the USA for the past 80 years.
EVERYONE deserves a fair trial. Russell is being silenced and shut down before he is even being formally accused. If, after he gets a fair trial, he is found guilty, then I am all for him being locked away for the rest of his days. Until the happens, he should be treated as if he was innocent. Government writing to social media platforms in order to shut someone down is just wrong, plain and simple. If you don't see that as an abuse of power, then I don't know what else I could say to you.
You seem to think that because taxpayers pay for the BBC that it is not used as a propaganda arm for the government? I don't see how one prevents the other.

This is the guy who married Katy Perry years ago. She's a story on her own, a rebellious child of very religious parents.

Like so many, in his younger years he was quite promiscuous.

If this link from Reddit works, it's a short clip from the Bill Maher show recently. Too much truth for Bill to handle, he was squirming. This truth telling about the Plandemic is why Brand has now been framed.
It seems your eyes are tightly closed as to the existence and meaning of the First Amendment. Tightly closed to the notion of a presumption of innocence. Maybe that's the difference between Brits and Americans...?
