No ... ICE is prevented from arresting and deporting her for being here illegally. Temporary protection from that specific illegal act. She is still subject to arrest on any other criminal offense she commits. By applying for DACA protection, she has confessed to being here illegally. DACA does not apply to persons of legal status.

 

If she is somehow able to get legal status you might be right about never....however the way it looks right now with Nancy P blocking any meaningful legislation...that's not likely.

 

She describes going back to get her visa stamped regularly, which wasn't required for work visas at the time, only travel visas.

What you posted isn't correct in regards to the particular visa she had. Either way she is a US Citizen....nothing can be done. I have a little more faith in our career civil servants then you I guess, if she had overstayed her visa or violated it in someway...they would have figured it out during the nationalization process and not given her citizenship.

 

PF members seem to have a distinct MO of pandering to the tangential obscurities of an issue, instead of grappling with the overarching issues of a thread / OP intent, lol. Getting back to the implications and rational behind Bernie's calculated 'gamble' here...; I submit again that even Socialist Sanders is being pushed to the outer reaches of the 'radical fringe' by this spate of 2020 candidates; they are being encouraged by the DNC to 'best him' on this slippery slope of radicalized / progressivism... There is no 'there there' for Sanders to do anything else, imho. (LOL, expect that toward the end of the primaries, the surviving candidates to be singing a much more moderate tune as they begin setting the stage for the 'general election'... )

People of means always claim to be on the verge of poverty, I can't count the number of times that business owners of construction companies I've worked for or large homes that I've worked on have taken me around and shown me all their toys and then said that after they paid for their big house and its bills and the registrations on their boat, sandrail, bikes, trailer, muscle and or sports car etc. that they were poorer their workers. AFTER they paid all their bills.

If you need to undermine America and break our laws to make money you need to do something else.
