Dr. Paul Roberts: I actually kind of like this guy...

Roberts is a vocal critic of neoliberalism and the financialization of the economy,[23][24][25][26] having condemned jobs offshoring, deregulation and privatization in the U.S.,[27][28][29][30] However, he has spoken in defense of his time working in Ronald Reagan's administration with supply side economics.[31][20] Roberts has also criticized Keynesian economics to a lesser degree then laissez-faire market economics, but a nonetheless resolute view.[21][32]

Roberts has also regularly questioned the veracity of official economic data.[33][34][35][36][37]

Roberts has been critical of the United States Department of the Treasury and the U.S. financial regulatory authorities- particularly the actions of the Federal Reserve System- from former Chairmen Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke's terms to current Chairwoman Janet Yellen via quantitative easing policies and low interest rates, the latter of which he has argued (due to his view that official government data is biased) is actually negative interest rates.[38][39][26][40]

Bernie wants us to become more like Norway, and Norway does have many rich people, but they also do a good job of helping their poor people with tax money.

Norway has a fuel tax that goes into a sovereign wealth (rainy day) fund, mostly for when their oil runs out, and the opposite of a huge budget deficit and paying billions in interest every year like for the US.

Norway has the largest democratic wealth fund in the world (especially per capita), after 2 dictatorships:

Nah, confused I'm not and since I've lived in at least 3 countries practicing one type of socialism or another, I probably know more about it then you do.

And Sanders is hypocritical, like all the other Socialists, except the poor ones :)

I suppose no more hypocritical than the conservatives who wail about social programs then have a fit if anyone touches their Social Security checks
or pass legislation protecting farm subsidies and oil subsidies and defense contract subsidies. Same welfare - just different recipients.

“What anti-capitalist Sanders supporters really want is a Scandinavian-style social democracy, with its high level of wealth redistribution and income equality.

Sanders calls himself a “democratic socialist.” The word “democratic” is fundamental here, because historically socialism has not, typically, come about as a result of free and fair elections. In most socialist countries, like the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic where [this] humble author was born, socialism was imposed at the point of a gun. Sanders, therefore, is wise to distance himself from the socialists of yesteryear and insist that socialism in America should be chosen, freely and fairly, by the electorate. [Note that Sanders is definitely NOT proposing that the US become more like the failed USSR.]

As many of Sanders’s supporters have repeatedly and rightly pointed out, socialism is not communism. In fact, for most of the 20th century, socialism was understood to be a halfway house between capitalism and communism. The latter was a utopian vision of the future characterized by classless, stateless, and moneyless communal living. Strictly speaking, therefore, no communist country was ever “communist”—not even the Soviet Union (a.k.a., the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics).

Top members of the communist parties, which ran socialist countries, were generally exempted from limits on wealth accumulation. As such, communist leaders from Josip Broz Tito in Yugoslavia to Kim Il Sung in North Korea enjoyed luxuries unimaginable to the rest of the populace. Most importantly, top members of the government were above the law. They could not be accused, arrested, or convicted of ordinary or even extraordinary crimes (e.g., Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot). As such, inequality of status between the governing class and the governed masses in socialist countries was as great, if not greater, as it was under feudalism.”

[Sanders is far, far from this dictatorship style of socialism where no one can be rich and above the law except the leaders.]

Its the ordinary people in socialism that generally don't have much income or wealth. Those in government do very well. Chavez Daughter is the richest person in Venezuela. I suspect Raul and Fidel are the two richest people in Cuba.

Cmon, just leave this old commie alone. It is better to become sell out and happily retire, than become +1 in Clinton body count, especially after being backstabbed by his party.

wonder what Trump will spend on things after he loses

    - - - Updated - - -

agree, which is why we use the best of all systems...

any country that restricts themselves to just one system is setting themselves up for failure

look at Mexico, one of richest men in world, many poor, no safety nets, Christian nation... not what I want for our country

Definitely dont care, guy has been in politics all his life saving for a long time and he buys a 600k house?

    Umm, ok.

With 20% down payments are still under 3k, thats really just not that much money. Basically a nice condo in a lot of areas, including the city im buying in now. My budget of 550k is not anywhere near "rich".

You're way above me here. Can't understand a bit of it, but I do respect Dr. Craig Roberts opinions.

Woolley - The problem with the Clinton Foundation is not how much money goes to charity or whether it is legal or not, but who the contributors are and if they gained any favors for having having donated to it.

Hillary is part of Soros' war mongering one world order pack in Washington, and I want to see them out. A bully like Trump might just be able to fight them... otherwise there is no hope for America or the world.
