This is a blatant handout to the affluent and the academic establishment. It’s a gift to Biden’s base.

Biden claims his plan will ‘give working- and middle-class families breathing room’. The truth is the opposite. Most workers won’t see any benefit – because they haven’t attended college or taken out student loans. Worse, as the majority of taxpayers, working people will be picking up the cost of Biden’s loan ‘forgiveness’, to the tune of approximately $2,000 each on average.

Despite being championed by so-called progressives, the move to cancel student loans is deeply regressive. It is a reverse Robin Hood…. …These borrowers are mostly in professional postgraduate programmes, such as medical school and law school. The $100,000 and $250,000 income caps on relief are mainly for show, to pretend that this isn’t a handout to the rich. But most of these borrowers are typically early in their careers, before they start to earn the big bucks.

The upshot of Biden’s plan is truly grotesque: truck drivers and welders will be paying off the loans of future doctors and lawyers. To describe this as ‘breathing room’ for workers, as Biden does, is a sick joke.

Beyond the financial burden it imposes, Biden’s cancellation of student debt sends a terrible message to society. Cancelling debt for a select group will stir anger and resentment, as many will feel they have been played for suckers. Think of the young people who made a career choice other than college, because they didn’t want to be saddled with debt. Or the parents who scrimped and saved to avoid loans for their children. Or the graduates who worked hard to pay off their loans. All are effectively punished by Biden for playing by the rules…

    T
his is indeed a wealth transfer. One from Republican working and middle class citizens in the heartland to the wealthy bicoastal secular progressive urban elites. It is the most regressive tax the poor to aid the rich ever devised in America. It is part of Bidens revenge against the heartland of America.

Democrats openly laugh at working and middle class families who worked hard to avoid college debt for themselves or their kids or worked multiple jobs to pay off their or their children’s college loans.

the affluent do not take out student loans. their education is covered by family money, trust funds, or outrught paid by their corporations and foundations.

the working class do have ambitions for their children to attend college, and often do not have the assts to pay tuition. that is who will benefit.

additionally, the various trade schools (locally we have schools for truck driving and welding and probably others.), jr colleges, and scams like trump university also use student loans.

Jr. colleges and trade schools require far less money to get through than a school with 4+ year degrees. It is the upper middle class and the lower upper class who benefit from this at the expense of the regular middle class and working class as the article describes

If that was true, Biden’s handout to the affluent, the party of plutocratic socialism, the GOP, would be all for it.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “Student loan socialism would be a giant slap in the face to every family who sacrificed to save for college, to every graduate who paid their debt, to every worker who made a different career choice so they could stay debt-free.”

So says the plutocratic socialist, whose mantra should be "If you ain't rich, you don't matter". "Slapping" working people is an everyday agenda of Moscow Mitch and the GOP.

Mitch McConnell has voted 6 times to raise his own pay, yet voted 15 times against raising the minimum wage.

It is the democrat party that is the party of the plutocrats and oligarchy of the bicoastal secular progressive elites. The GOP is now the multiracial working and middle class coalition.

Ah well....if it was on that there interweb it ought be true.

That being said, I don't agree with loan forgiveness. Let me say that again since you have a history of not paying attention to what I ACTUALLY post. I DON'T AGREE WITH THE LOAN FORGIVENESS. But make no mistake, it will benefit all levels of middle class. To claim otherwise is asinine.

It is the republicon party that is the party of the plutocrats and oligarchy of the bicoastal secular regressive elites. The GOP rejects any coalition of Christians and members of other religions, lgbtqia, the middle class, the poor, and those who believe in living in a first-world democratic country.

The idea that it is a handout to the affluent is silly. Everyone gets the same amount removed as long as you're under the income cap. It shouldn't matter if you are part of a family with money any more than matters if you're a part of on that doesn't.

In addition to that, there's also this(bolded part is from the link).

Your post got absolutely nothing right. Not a surprise. It is the GOP that is the party of the multiracial working and middle class who are friendly to theistic belief and the family owned farm and business people.

It’s because the elites have set themselves apart from what used to be more like minded people of lesser means. There didnt use to be a divide between big globalist multinational companies on Wall Street and the local chamber of commerce small family and independent Main Street business community and now there is. That breakup is the trigger to the rest as family farmers and ranchers and local mom and pop businesses were shunned by the elites they found common ground among the middle class they were part of and the working class. Cultural issues like religious belief and education followed. I used to think I was aligned with the free trade globalists but they sided with the establishment elites post Clinton who delivered so much for them. The democrats dumped the working class to embrace and take over them. Trump saw this and our chance to suport the working class and create a multiracial working and middle class coalition that would fight back. That’s why the establishment hates him and us who follow him so much

Attacking the source says nothing regarding the actual content of the linked article which is mainstream enough to be included among articles on real clear politics recently.

If the source is not credible how can the content be, ponder that......ask yourself why you keep posting such nonsense and then it becomes obvious to all that this is pure political B/S spin.

And still nothing to refute the contention that the working class and middle class including those who worked extra and or sacrificed other things to avoid college loans or to pay them of quickly and responsibly are paying for this to the benefit of the newest professional class and elites who benefit from this

    It's definitely a role reversal.

No one could have predicted it in the 1990's. That the Left would soon be the poncing toffs, allied to the globalist bankers and megacorps hellbent on dismantling the last of the personal power of the common man.

Only 'strange' if paternalistic tokenism is more your thing.

Deploying conveniently-coloured flunkies to distract from your fundamental white supremacy, is a cheap trick that should be obvious to a smart ten year old.

So a party containing almost no minorities is multicultural while a party containing a fair amount is white supremist. How does that work?
