    “Sen. Cotton’s plan protects American workers by requiring employers to use the E-Verify system to ensure job applicants are eligible to work in the United States before hiring them. This bill would dramatically increase the fines imposed on businesses caught hiring illegals.”

    He even tried to compromise by including min wage increase in the bill. I’ll give you one guess who killed that bill.

    Until E-Verify. We still have laws on the books.
    And companies have been caught. Nothing happens. No deportations. No fines to companies. No one is fired.

    And we have the SS system already.
    Any system put in place by man, will be frauded by man. E-verify will be frauded at some point as well.

    Again, why is neither party enforcing the laws already on the books.

    And I have no idea who killed it. AFAIK. it's never made it to any congress floor.

    EDIT: I bet a raid on most any meat packing plant in the country would likely find 50% or so of the workers that would be caught.

    Biden would likely try to fine them for attempting to leave as instructed if anyone did follow the lawful deportation order.
