Biden administration releases intelligence on Wuhan lab

Last March, House Republicans passed a law requiring that the Biden administration seek answer to the question of whether the COVID virus came from an animal host, or escaped from the Wuhan lab.

Their findings: zilch. They still have no definitive proof either way.

So it looks like the WIV workers who got sick with cold/flu-like symptoms in November 2019, were not hospitalized, unlike the recent "bombshell" reports in the media indicated. Also, it seems that some of their symptoms were not typical for covid. Not surprising, though, the media always tries to muddy the waters for more clicks.

Overall, however, I have to admit that this report is pretty weak. It doesn't contain much detail at all, especially on the genetic origin of the virus. The furin cleavage site has always been suspicious, being the same sequence as in the epithelial sodium channel ENaC, although recent work seems to indicate that it was unlikely to have been engineered:

That leaves the possibility of natural evolution, but in the absence of close relatives, the origin is still unknown.

Biden should just ask China, then be like Trump

Anyone denying this came from the lab are science deniers at this point. I mean we now know the first cases were lab workers for the love of god.

Former US National Intelligence director John Ratcliffe, who had access to all intelligence during the rise of COVID-19, has said “My informed assessment as a person with as much access as anyone to our government’s intelligence . . . has been and continues to be that a lab leak is the only explanation credibly supported by our intelligence, by science and by common sense.”

 

Even if China wasn’t involved the US and all modern democracies should move away from purchasing goods and materials from that nation.
